handwraps/empty handed build

Looking at this since getting the gloves from CC.. REALLY would like to see some build breakdowns that can take advantage of them. I have a few .. ok, a LOT of various handwraps I've never bothered to equip because I know nothing about monks and various splash builds.

Since I've got wraps for virtually every occasion, and quite a few light weapons that a Monk/assassin etc might take advantage of.. who can help?

a druid hybrid would be the way to go for max dps.

if you for some reason want a monk that plays like a monk. http://www.ddovault.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1384392593

druid hybrid sounds pretty good, but I've never, ever played a druid. Got a link to a build breakdown? Don't know that 1st thing about em..

I have.. nothing even remotely recent. Saw a couple potentials, but non of them hybrids, and I'm wondering how to best involve u23.1 changes.

I would love to get the best experience possible with a new build. I've never had a legitimate BAD build, and have always had fun with every build.

Hi Munkenmo...

Great build layout, which I'm looking to TR into, but would you change anything now that we have the Pally updates???

Most likely, I breifly went on lam for epic orchard (first time playing since february). It was much easier on my first life pure paladin with 2012 gear than it was playing on my completionist monk, purely because the devs went overboard with MRR and PRR changes.

That build went up to 16monk because when I last played quivering palm was worthwhile, now that it's not, I'd most likely stop at 12monk.

Given that 2wf provides no melee power and being centered offers no MRR reductions, if I were playing I'd either be TR'ing or playing a different class at cap (likely my paladin or my druid).

I wouldn't bother with monk on that at all.

bladeforged, 15p, 3rogue, 2fighter, wear heavy armor.

I agree with munk here. Nearly 200 prr. +6 to con or str, and dr 30/60 is hard to pass up. Unless you have enough pdk/divine lives to push your prr to 150 and a bunch of displace clickies. The benefits of monk are better in terms of raw dps and evasion. Dodge and 5% movement too(although you could pick up 10% move in stalwart tree).

To be honest I wouldnt even bother with a staff. TF weapons like falchion and bastard sword are better.

So, do you know where I can find a good hybrid build then.. You mentioned Druid/Monk, but I haven't sen anything. Yours you just posted was nice, but not really a handwraps build, and certainly not a Druid/Monk hybrid

To help you with any kind of build you need to answer a couple questions...

-What +X Dexterity Tome do you have
-Do you want to play as primarily melee or caster with moderate melee dps
-Do you want to play in Wolf or Winter Wolf form or regular race?
-1st life 32 pt, or 34 pt/36 pt build

I can come up with lots of builds and splits but these basic questions need answered first to even start.

+5 across the board
Primary Melee, with some (support) casting
Never played a Druid, so know nothing of wolf/bear forms. Which is best for melee?
36 pt build, 3 Rogue/3Pali/3fighter lives on 1st Barb life

I don't care for the wolf or bear form fighting animations, it's very cumbersome for me to deal with.

Lelouch and Munkenmo have great write ups for wolf form builds that are tight with deeper Class splits.

I've played a few variatons of Water elemental form (Mantle of the Icy Soul) 2Monk/18Druid, Wis based and Evocation Focused or Wis Based and TWF+Stunning Fist, Cleaves and metas.

If I were to do another melee DPS, non-DC caster + support build with Handwraps I would do.

3Monk/17Druid Human Master of Stone Fist of Light Water Elemental Form for Mantle of Icy Soul debuffing with no save cheap cold spells and ice storm/sleet storm.
Strength (16pts) 18+level ups
Dex (4pts) 12
Con (10pts) 16
Wis (3pts) 11
Int (3pts) 11

10 Heroic Feats
TWFx3, PA, Stunning Fist, IC Bludgeon, Adept of Forms, Master of Forms, Quicken, Emp Heal Spell.
21-OC
24-whatever could be IC Piercing, Maximise etc
27-Blinding Speed or whatever if you have Goatskins or Epic Boots of the Innocent.

Skills-Concentration, Balance, Heal, UMD, a lil Tumble and w/e else.

Enhancements-Can you figure these out?  I usually roll with them and change up what I don't like.  There are great things in Ninja Spy/Shintao/Human/Season's Herald and Nature's Warrior (but take nothing for animal forms) Focus on boosting Strength, Wisdom, Heal Amp, Dodge, Saves, W&S Master any thing that gives PRR like when you are in Earth Stance and Fatal Harrier if you can keep the stacks up.
