Thunderforged Heavy Repeater

Considering making a Tier 3 TF Hvy Repeater...eventually.

My Arty is pure and WF.

I'd like to make a DPS oriented Hvy Rptr but I really want that extra slot so here's what I'm thinking:

Tier 1: 1st degree burns (mostly for the stacks of vulnerability). I'd put a Reconstruction 138 augment in the orange slot.

Tier 2: Purple slot (I like the idea of adding a Combustion 138 augment to help out my Tactical Detonation damage)

Tier 3: Thinking Mortal Fear here.

So, how does my plan look? Any suggested changes?

(BTW...gonna have Knives Eternal rune arm in the other hand for the 150 Force spell power which will also help out Tactical Detonation as well as my Blade Barriers)

Make a light repeater as well, and put Reinvigoration on it, for those sack of HP boss fights when you run low on fusillades.

2. Holy cow, that's gonna be a lot of Phlogs!

I'd drop the 2nd augment slot.  Instead, use the ring slot to pick up potency or reconstruction.

I run a TF Great X-bow, and switch to a TF Heavy repeater with Revig while the endless fusilade is recharging.

And yes it was a lot of phlogs, totally worth it.

Granted I don't know if I would say it was worth it if I hadn't duped the Phlogs.  Smiley

Why would you play a repeti build in first place.
Just kidding, just kidding.

Dont know why dont you use something else for tier 2?
Paralyzing fear or dragon edge, dragon edge being generally allround better.
Spells from artie do minimal damage, and you dont need much repair to keep recon up top for selfheals.
Bdw do you prefer artie or repeteater builds in general?
Since a palie rogue artie would be more xbow dps, and a sun elf would be a pure artiesh concept wise more dps as well.
/wf just isnt good imo

IDK what your gear is but the Sage's Goggles from Break in the Ice are always in the completion list. 132 combustion, 18% fire lore, +9 int. Not as flashy as the new MoD stuff but pretty easily obtainable.

What rings have potency or reconstruction?

Thanks for the suggestion but my Arti's already wearing Epic Mentau's Goggles.

I find Artis pretty cool but I'd certainly listen to what you had to say regarding splits for the Arti/Pally/Rogue.

I'm playing a robot because of the Reconstruct and repair spells Artis get. I don't care about a BF Arti because there's no really good advantage it has over a WF Arti.

Ring of the artificer is pretty obvious, but the recon spellpower only goes up to 90. Still a nice item if you don't need maxed out reconstructs.

Adamantine cloak of the dragon is pretty sweet for Artificers. Potency is only ~76 though IIRC.

Sorry, slight brain fart. Heavy repeaters are better. I like the flavor of having a light repeater as my "holdout pistol."

The RoF of a light & heavy repeater is the same. Reload time of a light is quicker than a heavy, but not enough to cover the difference in damage.

This thread is a few years old, but their results still seem to be accurate: https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/341522-Repeater-fire-rates

EDIT: I really have to get in and test some time to see if auto-attack is still acting like a haste on repeaters. Not to mention, then, what are its effects on other weapons?

Sage's ring has potency 92 and +8 cha and wis.  You can get random gen rings with 102 or maybe even 114 recon spellpower and a better secondary mod.
