The lag produced by Crystal Cove and Mabar were not enough to force people to participate in the event and stop completing other quests. I believe the mechanics of this event will fix that. I assume the mimic loot pile after killing it would give the original chest contents. I will also assume that the HH mimic bug will be reintroduced during this event, which would be amusing for raids.
