Festival Glaciation was nerfed so it brought the weapon it was added to up to an ML consistent with the level of glaciation (i.e. Festival glaciation 90 = ML 20). No change in ML if the ML was already higher than the glaciation (i.e. an ML 22 weapon with festival glaciation 90 = ML 22).


*Adding Frost lowers many weapons by ML 2. Guaranteed if the weapon is Mastercrafted.
*Adding Icy lowers it an additional 2.

That's how I have a few epic wondercrafted weapons at ML 12. They are still shittier than GS.


I am also curious to see if this was changed. Normally I'd laugh and say "of course not," but they did nerf tornadoes, which was FoS' other parting "gift." (I think of it as an apology, hence the quotes.)

*For weapons ML 22 and above, the value lowers by 1, not 2. ML 21 weapons will generally end up at ML 18 once Icy'd.

Some of the pre-ghostbaned loot gets lowered. Some does not. (In my experience, old race-restricted weapons never have.) First of all though, fuck those holy wraps. You can get ML 2 holy wraps, frost them and then they're ML 0. The lacerating ... well the worst that will happen is you wind up with ML 4 icy lacerating wraps. Not a bad risk.

If you're low on resources, you can tell whether it will lower the ML once it's frosted. If they don't go down by 2 ML once they've got festival frost, they won't change ML from icy, either.

Yeah, haven't figured out a way to add a kit to crafted anything, although rumours are flying around.

I can confirm the ML drop - I've had three swords go from 12 to 8 already, which is kinda cool.  Those are the levels where it doesn't matter much anyway, so having them at 8 is nice.

I encountered a new phenomenon: I had 2 heavy repeaters that went down 2 MLs from frost, but then did not drop further with icy. I can think of nothing as to why. I wiped the icy off and added again, same result.

I've never seen that happen before. Other weapons (including other repeaters) dropped the full 4.

I refuse to do icy kits any more.  I had a couple great twink weapons that went from level 14 to Epic 20 weapons because of kits.  These were items that I had from the first or second Risia ice games.
