farming remnants

Now that the exclusive limited omfg rewards for remnants are available, what are some of the ways to farm them?

Personally, I've had most luck with dual boxing part 1 of heroic elite Devil Assault with a lvl 18 (or less) character. Between 5-8 champion chests, and 1-3 remnant drops, I can get 50~100 or more remnants per run. I recommend fighting at the portal opposite the door to minimize the underground chests - or rather, some chests still spawn underground, but they usually can be opened. Hireling helps keeping the dualbox alive and also makes looting of the chests easier (particularly if you're pooling remnants to a single account.

Another interesting tidbit: Anyone can pick up champion droppings, regardless of level, presence in-quest, etc. If you have a quest with a small map and a bunch of remnants on the floor, you can bring in your dual box (or guildies... duh) to pick them up, even after the quest is complete. You can also have your dualbox / guildie keep the completed instance active, log on a different character(s), and pick up everything again. And again. For example, you run the entire DA, have someone hold instance and collect those remnants on various characters (DA: small map, lot of mobs, lot of champs, and also accessible to wide level range).

How many minutes did you spend in the hallway of infinite orange-named zombies?

What diff (ee or eh) is best considering number of champions versus "annoyingness" of the number of HPs the mobs have?

hp is not a factor, those zombies die alone by dropping into chasm

EDIT: I've revisited HH and it's definitely decent. Not quite infinite spawn (assuming I am in the right spot), but three waves of orange zombies, each with 9 potential champs (assuming solo, EE). Yields quite a lot of chests. Harder to dualbox due to considerable running distance.

Do you miss out on any loose fragments by having them drop into chasm, or are they all chests?

Does anyone know what determines whether something drops a loose shard vs chest?

I found the mummy room to have seemingly infinite skeletal knights.  I left the mummy alive and the knights kept spawning until I got bored and finished it.
I ended up with a room full of chests stacked all over the place.

Non Orange Named mobs can drop loose remnant and Orange Named can drop chest.

Same we had like 15 chests in there or something silly like that.

Would the CC bat spawn be a decent place to farm remnants that drop on floor? Anything lower in level that would be better?

as for juju, you can miss some chests that spawn in a wall or up in the air. some floating chests can be accessed from ledges during the fall. some are lost.

as for the mummy room, again I think the spawn is not unlimited, but I don't know for sure. I'd guess around 5 waves spawning as mummy reaches certain hp threshold.

Delirium.

All the puzzle pieces can spawn as champs, and they spawn unlimited times.

Just bring a caster, doing it on a melee is fucking exhausting.

I picked up ~80 just running through it elite without spending any extra time farming.

You have to be level 17 or lower, though.

Hmmm. Or, IIRC, be any level, and bring a suitable hireling. Hmmm.

So I have not confirmed this, but I read somewhere that the ones that drop on the ground are persistent, as in if you come into the quest after they have dropped on the ground, they will be there for you. Allowing you to put a boxed bot in the instance and cycle through all of your toons on your main account to collect them

Ran HH extended with guild.
1.  Farm the heavy traffic areas.  Juju zombies, Zombie and Necro Wizard hallway and Jail cell/puzzle hall were all loaded.  Spider areas were also target heavy.
2.  Use the Dragon to break every mound and pillar.
3.  EH is required to get drops but with only 1D3 it is not worth the time.  EE is just as easy with a good group and more than double the reward numbers.

We ended up with 350-500 in 1 hour.

Turbine just FTFY with the patch today.  Says the ground spawns decay after 3 minutes.

Never have the patience to farm these properly.  Sitting on maybe 4k remnants, I think.  That's just from TRing, though :/.

Would be nice to blow them all on haste pots, but I'd still only get 100 or so, and that just seems like a waste XD.

Dunno I got like 2.4k just getting from 1 - 20 during that remnants bonus week.
You can get fuck all from the rewards so why the heavy "farm" anyway.

Yes, but I like to thought experiment it out, assuming that there will eventually be a useful reward.

Because Sev has big plans for these in future as the story about the "Mystery" is revealed...     Shocked

Meh, they were easy enough to farm a few so why not just in case they put something more exciting than Pots of Waterbreathing in there....
