if i swap out the feat at fred. isnt there an auto effect that resets all my ED who need cleave? or is that changed?

so i can just change feats?

Fred may or may not currently reset EDs. If he does, you can still swap it by reincarnating (LR/ER/TR). You can do the same trick with spell focus and spell pen in Magister and Draconic

Fred will reset them.. You will need to use a LR/ETR to get around the restriction.

Just wanted to post that I took this build (with Quicken replacing the WF feat) to 20 last night and realized one minor issue with either the enhancements or the epic destiny points...while you can have both the AB: Damage from Dreadnought and the MP/RP boost from KotC using either of them deducts from the pool for the other.

Definitely means that one of them isn't necessary...but which one? Is the enhancement version better than the epic destiny version since it's melee power rather than a flat percent bonus to damage. Worse?

Only other thing I've questioned after seeing all the action boosts available at level 20 (24 by my count not counting the defensive ones on a separate timer) as well as the fact that Dreadnought lowers the time between uses so you can chain them whether the +2 melee power from the weapon focus would trump taking Quick Draw. Obviously there's time to activate these on trash but in a boss fight the time saved during attacking from quick draw might be worth more damage output than the +2 melee power. Definitely don't have the knowledge of how Quick Draw's interacting with the attack sequence at this point to answer that myself but it was a thought I wanted to put out there for people that have more knowledge of game mechanics to discuss.

I didn't know Quick Draw shortened the boost activation cooldown. Any cleave should do the trick as well, IIRC.

It's not Quick Draw that shortens the activation cooldown - that's in the core of Dreadnought. But since the cooldown drops low enough to keep the boosts up all the time Quick Draw becomes a bit more important to not loose damage every 20 seconds during the activation.

Yeah, that's what I was talking about (the way you can't do anything for a second or so after hitting a boost). Didn't know Quick Draw messed with that. Sorry if that was unclear.

If you understood the reference, you'd know that wasn't directed at you. Doing well on the whole looking clever and cool thing though, keep that up.

Looks decent.

About twists:
Why Primal Scream? For buffing others or the sonic damage? You will not benefit from the buff yourself when in sacred defender stance.

Personally I usually prefer Grim Precision over Intolerant Blows for the tier 3 twist, but it depends a bit on the content being run.

Drop stance, primal scream, re-stance. Usually I figure I'll pick it up from someone else, but the only way to get it reliably on a defensive stance character is to cast it yourself.

Legendary content is not fortification heavy, so trying something different. Malicious Weapons is another good option.

I'm considering trying out Scion of Mechanus on this build. Has anyone used it? Is Master Reconstruction exactly the same as Communion of Scribing?

What would you gain by Mechanus? Less points spent on Racial tree? Is it worth losing the melee power from Arborea?

Regardless of that, do you think someone could squeeze in 8 points in harper for KtA (by dropping some Sacred Defender points) to gain damage and dire charge DC? (A Leg. GS swap item could be used to boost INT)

I was playing such a build before my break (when paladin was FotM) and was really satisfied. Would would you say it compares right now with pure tempest and 15/5 Pal/Rng TWF builds?

Mainly, also better recons.

That's what I'm wondering. The armor-piercing would make up some of the loss, but it's lower DPS, for sure.

It would be a significant hit to survivability and quality of life, but yes it's doable. I'm not going to include it in this build, since part of the goal is to be user friendly and low investment. Do what works best for you though.

I take blunt then piercing, but it hardly matters since it's just for the melee power.

I finally got around to testing Mechanus, and it blows. The repair amp is really good and I assume the fort bypass works, but the Master Reconstruction is strictly worse compared to Communion of Scribing. I suspect it is only getting 50% effective repair spellpower.

Before Scion of Mechanus: Communion of Scribing ~950

After Scion of Mechanus: Communion of Scribing ~1250, Master Reconstruction ~850

Same cooldown, same 25 sp cost, less healing.

I’ve been running this build in Divine Crusader, and would add in the following:

- Grab Holy Retribution from the KotC tree.  75% of the description of this enhancement is a waste of time.  The other 25% is  actually useful.  You get a triple hitting cleave attack and the ability to convert Turn Undead attempts into extra Smite Evils.  If you grab Endless Turning (Remember: I'm talking in context of being a Divine Crusader) and Endless Smiting, you’ll regen 3-4 smites every 2 minutes.
