Do you take fast movement?  18% speed boost seems like it would help a lot with survivability.  Also, have you compared gxbow to repeating xbow?  I don't quite see how gxbow can be more DPS.

Had the fast movement at first but haven't needed it since lv 20. When they come after me I pop off uncanny and re-position myself, keeping in mind that I'm losing dps and stacks when I'm running. Kiting is not a great option, you lose a lot of back stab damage as well.  Also I am finding  that am pulling bosses off the tanks by accident, which was only funny the first time, the raid gets pretty pissed if fatty or T.O. break off and run all the way over to the far side of the fights. So it's a work in progress.

Seems that when you do enough to piss them off they mobs and staying angry for a bit, but with all the fort debuff I run I am crit'n often and fairly hard.  A threat shed would be good towards end-game but it's not going to happen so I will adjust.

Honestly Atomic I initially stuck with the GxB because with the rogue pass I committed to it, and to testing it fully before I would allow myself to switch back. Also, I have run repeaters forever. I am still stacking numbers, which I will post with full final build  but I will say this, using the GxB is actually quite a different combat experience than the repeater, I'm not say better or weaker, just very different. After you get over being surprised when you knock down a mob and start planning on it happening.

I have noticed that what enhancements I take change a good deal as I level up, and that the GxB while no FoTM build it is pretty fun.

I have not optimized full gear lay out, I'm still chasing a couple odds and ends to maximize, luckily the gear works for GxB or Repeater the same.

Without damage boost or stacks, regular damage is around 260-300 and the crits come about every 3rd or 4th shot for 1400-1900, this doesn't count any of the add-on damage from effects or Sneak attack, those are purely the front end damage.

Mostly I running Sharadi and Crusader, but it's fun in Fury as well, even with the loss of ranged power the base damage is still alright and basic adrenaline shots are 5k a pop, more if paired with a specific ranged attack like leg shot, pin, otto, wrack, etc...  The rate of fire on the Gxb is fast enough that the adrenaline is recharging all the time, and the Fury shot is pretty impressive Thank god for double shot.

Shame they didn't give mechanics the threat range buff, and dialed back the alacrity, the mechanic could have almost kept up with the Holy trinity... or least held their towels for them.

Well I'm capped now and I will tell you what is a real bitch, even more than the absence of more special ranged attack, it's the agro.

When you hammer a mob with a big tasty ranged back stab you have no way of reducing threat, I have can do fine until I will put some real heat on a target and that fucker will break off from whoever it is fighting and charge me down. I tend to keep the Uncanny dodge unused waiting for that to happen now, after a week of it.

But as much as it sucks not to have it on a mechanic I feel really bad for the Acrobats, sly flourish was so completely ass-fucked, and those poor bastards are standing right there. 15%???? applied multiple times? since when did shedding hate become a De-buff instead of a safety move?

And poor Assassin's shiv never worked anyway.

300% knocked down to 15%.

Sounds like slotting Dark Diversion would be worth it.

Also, Sly Flourish was not 300%, it was 300 points. In epics, 15% is always more than 300 (but remember you have to average it out over the cooldown.)

With the huge lack of named great xbows, I figured I'd just grab some from the AH and end rewards. But these weapons seem to be about as rare as stat tomes for me. It must not be just me either, because the lame random ones I see on the AH are priced like they are stat tomes as well.

Even my almost pure rogue with rewards by class option checked ends up usually with non repeating heavies and lights in most lists, but no greats?!?  Who uses those?  I know I should blame myself for thinking that with an update that is supposed to make great xbow mechs viable, the devs would actually have them appear in reward lists for rogues.

Lev 1-11 Cannith crafted Gxb
Lev 12-21 Greensteel with Radiance II for blinding
Lev 22-28 Thunderforged

Don't even worry about the random loot ones for now, it will take the AH a couple of months to calm down, in the meantime I would advise you to follow the above.

The only reliable method to acquire lootgen great xbows:
Play an artificer with 'quest end rewards based on class'.

Well I will take your advice and rotate a Imp decep item in this week and see how it goes mate.

It works lovely on fast rate of fire ranged. I used both Imp Dec, Dec and weapon-based Dec for a while. Mobs were spinning faster than Pete Burns.

I had a bunch of stupid challenge shit in my bag, so I just crafted up a Cormyrian GXBow.  Works well enough for now.

Failing that, there's usually a few in the weapons brokers inventories.  Or just buy a blank and cannith craft one.

Good news, looks like the new proposed mech changes will favor great xbow over repeaters with a bunch of extra sneak attack dice.

Managed to find yet another way that Time Bomb is bugged.

Now my mechanic is somehow stuck in a way that she can only move during the placement animation.  How in the hell do you even screw that one up?

That has been bug reported, still waiting for it to be acknowledged.

Is this 18 rogue/2 arti build still legit or would changes be recommended?

Or you could really dial it up to 11 and go for a Great Terror build.

If your going human you gotta spend at least on point for the damage boost.
