Tier 3 TF is better than First Blood, especially since DS can be gotten elsewhere, and fort bypass is better than 5 extra damage per chomp.

At 20 I usually have Epic Sirocco, Epic Garos Malice, Sacrificial Dagger, and holy/disruption Stars of Day hotbarred. HE Frostbite Blade, HE Elemental Fury, and T3 Greensteel are also good.

Yeah.  28.  I'm running one at cap right now on what is usually my FvS.  Because FvS suck right now.  I have some melee gear, but just wasn't sure if it should look much different from my pally.  Seems pretty similar at first glance.

It's a toss-up. I really like the 5% damage buff on the black. However, most people won't want to go without 150% fortification on a melee in EE. So you can do shadowplate and get the striker upgrade for DPS (3% doublestrike) or guardian if you want the DR.

The upgraded ToEE armor is really nice endgame armor for the 150% fort/ lesser displacement/elemental absorption combo (though not the best option on this build since the heavy version will break oath.)

A friend asked for a version that gives both Shadar Kai/Ranger past life.

I like the TOEE armor, it's just a bitch to farm the shrooms, and the set bonus with weapon is the real sweet spot to me but weapons work best off hand, and this is a single weapon fighting build with orb off hand.

This is all true. If you've got one laying around, it is a legit choice, but I wouldn't farm it for this build.
