Steam summer sales

Cheap games everywhere! Fun.

Have a bit of money to spend this time around but wondering what to go for that I won't end up regretting.

Mostly had my sights on the Enhanced version of Baldur's Gate 2 as I have been thinking of going through that again but is it good enough to justify basically buying the game again as I still own the original version?

Then again, damn near everything is on sale so tough choices.

Current Steam library for me is (though I own dozens outside Steam of the same genres) :
  • Arkham Asylum-City
  • Deus Ex 1-2-3
  • Dragon Age: Origins
  • Skyrim
  • Half-Life 2-E1-E2
  • Mass Effect 1-2
  • Portal 1-2
  • Shadowrun Returns and Dragonfall
  • Super Meat Boy

Mostly into: Beat 'em up / Platformers / Shooters, but nothing realistic. Not big on CoD and the likes. But really enjoy mixes with other genres. Like Dead Space, Deus Ex, Halo, Resident Evil. / Adventure / RPGs-jRPGs-Action RPGs / Strategy-Turn Based.

Anything that you vaulties have played that would definitely be worth playing and at a very good price currently?

Also feel free to use this thread for any and all suggestions of any other genre for other vaulties. Such as played "x" and it was really good and currently at a very good price!

The enhanced versions aren't worth buying over modded versions of the original imo.

Tbh, that's actually what I was thinking too.
I always thought I would have more time as I get old but it seems to happen otherwise. I just keep my hopes high for retirement.

Nothing worthy that was added then? That's unfortunate.

As for Fallout/Borderlands are those open world-ish? From what little I know I think they were but I could be wrong.

I tend to have trouble with those, gives me a too much = too little feeling and never know what to go for  Undecided

Aww snap, had a few games on my wishlist but they weren't cheap enough since summer sale started but they're all under 5$ today  Cheesy

Bioshock and Dead Space franchise.

Edit: Even better, they come packaged for even less! Bioshock 1-2-3, Dead Space 1-2, System Shock 2, Dishonored = 25$

Fallout is very much open world and both Fallout 3 and New Vegas are freaking great.  Skyrim looked better but I felt the fallouts were better.

My understanding is Borderlands is more of a first person shooter in an openworld-ish setting than an actual open world game.

The Borderlands games are FPS/RPG games. It's not very open world at all, if that's what you're looking for. Still a hell of a lot of fun though. 2 is the best, but 1 and Pre-sequel deserve a playthrough.

There's a lot of new crashing bugs, which are still being patched out.

Definitely, played both Asylum/City and they're excellent. At that price I'll be getting Origins now.

If you haven't tried it, get Binding of Isaac: Rebirth when it inevitably hits sale again on the last day.  Highly addictive game.

Hero Academy for $2.50.  really addicting, super casual game.  Can be played on iOS/android and definitely a better experience on a tablet.

I bought a bunch of games on Steam Sale Smiley Spent ~$100, even with sale prices. Now I just need the time to play them, heh.

Go with Castles and Crusades. Gygax helped build it right before he keeled over.

If you take both "C"s, you invert them, put a vertical stroke and an "&" between them, we can talk.
