The whining in this thread is classic. 

Everyone complains for years that the game is too easy.  Now, even before the new stuff is out, people are bitching about the challenge of EE Necro and ToEE.  And some people think ranged toons are too OP and some think they are gimp and the pass was shit. 

Someone recommends grouping and using tactics and another poster complains, that sounds like too much effort for this game. 

IMO the game should be designed so that Norm allows you to solo rofl stomp content with no deaths and little chance of failure on a decently built toon of any class, Grouping on norm is only for social reasons/helping new players.  Hard should be solo-able on the best toons by the best players and probably with more time/resource requirements, but a group of 6 should have a relatively easy time with it and a near certain chance of success.  Elite should either require a huge time/resource investment or be impossible even for the best toons.  Groups of 6 should be able to complete, but the no-deaths run should be rare and the chance of failure should be real. 

People would rather quit the game though, than be unable to solo elite at this point.

Agreed.  Although, getting two or three shotted in old epics was not uncommon on melees.  Even tanks.  Back then you had between 400-700 HP at level 20.  And trash mobs hitting for 150-200 was not out of the ordinary.
