Some testing:

15 levels of wizard levels (4 fvs/1 barb):

Caster level = wizard caster level

Intense faith works for +3 caster levels

Arcane soldier gloves DOES NOT work Sad

Untested:

Maximum caster level?
Abishai set?

Unclear whether there is a maximum caster level, but it seems to be doing pretty decent damage and casts at the same speed as normal spells.

Also, mental honing is super easy to build up because ardcane blast multiprocs.

There seems to be two possible routes for Master of Knowledge builds:

1) Just use arcane blast to quickly build up procs and ignore its damage.  E.g., 12 warlock/6 wiz/2 FvS

2) Use arcane blast/bolt for reals and not just to proc mental honing.  E.g., 18 wiz/2 FvS

20d6 AoE force damage for free seems quite good.

"NEW: Archmage's Arcane Bolt and Arcane Blast SLAs now benefit from Maximize, Empower, Quicken, and Heighten metamagic feats.
NEW: Archmage's Arcane Bolt and Arcane Blast SLAs now scale with Spell Power at the normal rate (rather than 50%.)"

Are these things useful now?

Less useless, anyway.

Still evade-able, and they only count as lvl 2 and 4 spells, so they're nothing to build around.

Um,

Heighten?

Also, build for some DC's. It's reflex, most stuff won't make that save. Use another spell on things that will. These just got A LOT more attractive.

Did you manage to do some testing on DCs?  You'd expect them to be affected by evocation DC modifiers, but I have a feeling they aren't knowing turbine.

If that's the case, heighten would still be pretty useless, since you wouldn't be able to get the DCs high enough to matter.

Master of knowledge is kind of forcing you to build around them.  I guess it depends on how much evasion there is in new content.  Personally I am going for the more balanced approach with high wizard levels.
