Wow, I feel like Im prepping for a Heroic Elite shroud back when the cap was 20...
Ok so I haven't been making DR-breakers in a long time since I had so little call for them. I assume the old school silver/good is still the way to go? What's the DR like on the portals?
I'm currently doing a GxB life and don't have access to the denieth silver ammo(though it wouldn't be a huge deal to roll over there and favor-unlock it). And with Canith Crafting broke, I can't make a DR-breaking GxB. What I DO have is a lvl 26 Thufnerforged GxB with nothing in it's 2 augment slots. Would it be worth it to throw in a good and a silver augment and just bust the DR wide open? The damn thing does so much damage without augments I haven't even felt the need to apply them.
You can't break portal DR. DR is 100 on hard. Immune to all elemental damage (fire, ice, lightning, acid, sonic). But good/force/alignment/negative damage hits for full. So weapons with those add on effects are the best. A triple positive GS weapon is what people used to smack them with. A Mortal Fear weapon with 8d8 of force damage per hit wouldn't be bad. Even a T2 TF weapon with two slots of negative damage would be better than a lot of what I am seeing being swung. Also, any destinies, enhancements or feats that add light damage, force damage, law or chaos, etc. would be good.
Devil DR breakers are great, since there are devils and fiends everywhere. That is still Silver + Good. A lot of the sub bosses just need good, but Harry needs Silver and Good.
The Rakshasa is Pierce + Good. If you aren't piercing, then bring some add on damage effects that make up for your lack of DR Breaking.
The Codex is Chaotic. DR is around 90 on Hard.
They made the DR numbers high enough that it really slows you down if you aren't breaking it. Not that it means you will fail, per se, just that it will eat up a lot of time and really make the quest feel like a slog.
