Enjoying the build so far.

I didn't have completionist on this toon, but I did use a +1 heart to make him a gnome for the bonus to height.  It really helps more than you'd think

My ? is, why sonic SP @ lvl 26?  Was it only because there's not much else to choose from?  I haven't found any need for sonic sp yet. (i'm only lvl 26)

Heres the one Ive been running.

A few changes, +1 monk -1 warlock.  better BAB and diamond body and HP die.  you didnt get anything from the 2nd warlock anyways

Other than that its feats and enhancements that are different than Jakeela's.

    Wouldn't mind recommendations on gear swap outs to maximize.

    Correct me if Im wrong, but cant you make a Earth/Water/Water/earth LGS Wis 15/7/2 item?

    seems to work on paper.   would give you the legendary ooooze as well as your ooze procs on shots

    Your hands increase in size, granting a +2 size bonus to Strength and damage.

    Does anything interesting (or anything at all) happen at 100+ DEX for shuriken?  Not that I think going that direction is good, just wondering if its been tested.  Does extra chance to throw cap at 100? Does it wrap? Does it break?

    It's supposed to cap. I don't recall anyone actually testing it though.

    That would make sense, but who knows with DOO coders.  Smiley  If it caps or wraps it would seem unwise (too many resources toward Dex when that isnt the only important stat), but it would be fun if it breaks something.

    Shifting gears, anyone played around with a fighter 12 base for surge?  Maybe fighter 12/monk 8?  I know it gives up a lot off the bat with no native access to ranger enhancements (which also means race and points required to get AA), plus fewer monk levels for 10k, but the up side is +8 to dex, wis, and int (for those using kta).  Plus a few more HP and fort save from con.

    Or maybe it would just suck for anything other than a shuri build trying to knock out a fighter past life.  :/

    Hey sorry just getting back in game after 5 months. This is a nice variant on this build. I will repeat what I said other places though, in my experience, running LE content most of the time, this thing excels at killing trash, and just barely contributes meaningfully on red names. Solo'ing any red names boss at the end of an LE quest is basically miserable. The only exception to this that I have found is running in Fury, especially with Manyshot. You don't even need Zen Archery, just Monk Stance after Manyshot is over.

    I think this build utilizing your Action Boost layout, but in Fury and spending 25 Pts in AA for +3 DC would be a really nice hybrid of approaches. Not sure how the AP work out for it though.

    32 DWS (Just take Strikes like Lightning). IAF is awesome, but honeslt I spend very little time in one place and stacked to 25 stacks in this game. It's nice to have but not really that big if a deal I think. Only really ever get 25 stacks if I'm in a cheese spot somewhere.

    78 AP, can use the last 2 for IAF, another wisdom, or something like that.

    Then if you run in Fury you're only down 2 DC from your build, I think. But you can Manyshot like a pro with Sniper shot for big red named Chunks, and you can kill stuff with Adrenaline that you know has really high Fort.


    Another way to go might be to use Helf, and utiliize AA Racial Tree. You lose out on DWS T5, but you can get +4 Dex and 20% Doubleshot from Capstone AA, which is also very good for your Vorpal proc rate, but also helps Damage with Slayer during 10k/Manyshot with Adrenaline. You really just lose Killer, which is mostly useless on Red Names anyway.

    20 Helf (Damage boost, AA, +3Wis/Dex AB bonus, 1 Wis)
    41 AA (+4 Dex, +2 Wisdom, +3 DCs, Slayer Arrow and Strong Imbues)
    10 DWS (Sniper Shot, Dex to Damage with Bows, Damage Boost, Sniper Shot)
    6 Nja (ANT, some dodge)
    2 Soul Eater
    1 Shintao (Hamp)
    ----

    I think this second choice would be absolutely killer. It loses +3 DCs from EA and 6 Wisdom, and 2 Wis from DWS (-8 Wisdom and -3DC), but gains 2 Wisdom from Fury, 2 Wisdom from AA, and 3 DC's from T4 AA. Also, it has 4 More Dex for more overall missiles (So in reality -4 Wisdom, -0DC from your build) for a grand total 2 less DC.

    But it will completely face rip all red names and troublesome mobs with grat abandon using Adrenaline.

    What do you all think?

    It's been a long time since I reviewed this thread and I just noticed Tilo posted a racial AA version of this build a page or two back, so big ups to him on thinking about this way before I did. I don't think he mentions it being a Fury thrower, he was just trying to max DC at like 100 or something crazy.

    So I think the over the finish line state of this build or a better rev 2 would be a combination of my original build + El Guapo + Tilo's tweeks and suggestions. Helf, AB Action boosts, Racial AA Capstone, in Fury. It's the best parts of a Fury Shuri mixed with the Best parts of the Death Star.

    I'll try tp update the OP when I have time and I've thought this over a little more to make sure I'm not missing something.

    Only issue in planning this build as Helf/Racial AA so far is the that Helf can only get one stat boost on Action boost. Probably take Wisdom, or may plan something else for those points.

    I started a variation of this build as a deep gnome on an alt but stopped leveling @ 12 to help a guildmate out.

    1Wiz,6Ranger,13Monk is what I have planned following the feat/leveling order but took Dodge and GSF Enchant vs. Completionist and PL Wiz which I don't have on this toon.

    Started with 1Wiz/6Monk/5Ranger my guildy was ready to level to 13 so I took the 6th level of Ranger....like a dumbass cause it fucked up the leveling order to get Grandmaster of Forms with my level 18 Feat.

    Fuck.

    I am enjoying the build and see lots of potential in it even though it's not ideal.

    I have a Shadowstar, 3xPos GS Shuri, Snowstar et al.

    I know the Shadowstar has higher base damage but the 16-20 crit range on the Snowstar makes it more of a no brainer go to weapon till I get to epics.

    Quite positive you CANNOT and wiki agrees... but it's been a while since I tr'd.

    BTW, is the 13/6/1 split still ideal with recent monk enhancements update? I really want to tr into this but too lazy to think too hard through it all!  Smiley

    Idk.  I used a toon that wasn't get'n any play time and built loosely based on this with what I had available. 

    This is my first thrower but he was a druid for the past 3 years.  More or less unplayed since they fixed thrower damage adding to unarmed attacks in wolf form. I have a couple Spelltouched Shuri's and most if not all the named shuri's in game so I though I would give it a go.

    A pure 20 max dex based monk in LD using snowstar is going to be amazing.

    Heheh.Wisdom/int as secondary/third stats, with KTA/harper dex/racial dex filling in for extra ap.
