Once you've left the PC it requires an act of God ( read : Cordovan ) to get rid of you title, as you won't have access to the option anymore.

You're confusing a man doing his job and some volunteers breaking a code they agreed to. I bet he is under an employee NDA and no-one will care that he made a small mistake. He's not going to publicly resign in some principled stand to appear fair, it's the man's wages you're talking about. Be realistic.
