What kind of DPS are they capable these days?

Average about 3k per swing autoattacking rednames in Shadowdancer without any boosts.

http://www.ddovault.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1458078943/25#28

Full retard tempest in LD should be about 2.5k using the same metrics.

TA core does not give doublestrike unless you have Qstaff equipped.
Look at the TOEE daggers as they are 16-20/x5
Not using assassinate is retarded.
where is the tempest calc and are you still using arborea like a tard??

i think those are the nits i wanted to pick

It is known. It stopped working some time ago. It is not included. The AP is still there fro dodge, though.

They are 15-20x5. I'd prefer to do damage calcs with more general purpose weapons though. Double Ass Kiss is totally the way to go for legendary redname damage though.

All things considered, it is not worth it to screw over the rest of your character to get a viable all or nothing DC that can only take down one meaningless mob every 12 seconds when they would only have taken a few seconds to kill with balls out melee dps.

Of course, this is coming from a guy who thinks that FoD is a waste of 50 sp. I get that people like playing that way though.

Sounds like work. I might get around to it though.

Taking 3 hits instead of 2 before dying is not impressive. The best way to melee is not getting hit in the first place. 48% dodge is the most valuable thing on that list. I did forget to mention improved evasion, but dodge is still more important.

For me taking 3 hits instead of 2 is a big deal, because where you can't take any (LE Shroud part 2 and 5), fighter can take one.

But it's not only 3 (where a rogue can 2). How much HP does a melee rogue has? 1.2k? That's 2724 with your 127 PRR. A fighter with 2k hp and 250 PRR has 7000 effective HP. That's about 2.6 times more effective HPs. If a rogue can take 2 than fighter can take 5.2. Of course, ignoring dodge, but what's the point in dodging one Mintanu hit to be killed on the next?

5 Foot Step wrote on Sep 11th, 1974 at 7:20pm:
False.

Huh? I didn't know displacement and elusive target worked differently on rogue than on other classes.

5 Foot Step wrote on Sep 11th, 1974 at 7:20pm:
Most builds can't fit that gear.

Including rogues. But it doesn't matter. SR is close to useless.

5 Foot Step wrote on Sep 11th, 1974 at 7:20pm:
Bluff does matter. The point is that you have aggro but they are facing the other way.

Cleave. Like I said: if having the mob looking to the other side was the thing than I should dump con because we always have at least one tank so I could be hitting what he is. But, that's not how it works. They cleave, and they attack randomly, and sometimes they attack someone else but you are on the path, etc.

And, it's not like you can't get workable bluff on any other class, so this is not an advantage. Assassins trick does not do what you are suggesting, fyi, it only allow you to do SA.

-> Edit: also from U33p2 notes:

Bluff and Deception will no longer cause bosses to turn around. This also corrects an issue where ranged enemies would stop attacking after being bluffed or affected by Deception, and improves the enemy combat experience. Red-named bosses are still affected by sneak attack damage vulnerability.

RIP rogues.

5 Foot Step wrote on Sep 11th, 1974 at 7:20pm:
If you're not convinced now, just wait for reaper. Not getting hit in the first place is better than any realistic amount of PRR or HP when the lowliest trash mobs can hit for 4k+.

I'm not. I've not seeing many melee rogues surviving LE shroud part 2.

But still, what's the point in playing a melee rogue? Let's ignore survivability and pretend they are as good as rangers, paladins and fighters. They don't have AoE and they healing is crap, so how can this be a flavor of the month? I don't see it. Unless if their single target DPS was so uber to make up for the lack of those other qualities, but it's not.

The only special thing they get going for them is assassinate, and it sucks (at least on that wee agree).

Pure monk added. Solid 12k dps on well built toons.
Dex-to-damage gets honorable mention.

Henshin mystic is still 2nd tier after a metric ass ton of melee power was added.

8 wolf / 6 monk / 6 ranger is looking pretty gnarly

finishers still seem bugged  after they said they were fixed. stunning bonus is likely not applying????? (My testing on the dark stun / blind, etc).

Added tank section.

I'll grab some of 5-foot, rubbins, jakee builds and link in to the listings, and/or relevant mobo postings.
That's if I'm not lazy as fook

I have never properly written up my current build

My mistake I did write it up mostly here: http://www.ddovault.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1478467140/14#14

(Furyshuri + Manyshot) it's 8m/6ra/6fighter Helf
AP:
Helf: 4 AP Damage Boost
Kensei: 11AP  Up to Core 3 (+1 crit multi) + Contemplation for ki
NjS: 11 for Shadow Fade (Cores 1-3)
AA: 34 for Slayer and Elemental Arrows T5
Harper: 7 for KTA
DwS: 11AP for Sniper Shot

Feats are all the usual suspects, I've been running with Deflect Arrows which is nice.

I didn't complain, Saekee brought it up in the thread. I pretty clearly stated I didn't care and hadn't been updating anything. If saying a shout out would be nice is the same as claiming copyright you guys live in a real strange place.

Mostly you're just trolling me because that's all either of you know how to do. Troll on.

You and FFS have these silly egos about things that are "yours."

What do you do for a living Jakee? Nothing you can take pride in there, jesus?

Suresies. I'll put down only the things people vouch for here and in other threads.

it'll have to settle a bit before people decide if tanks are worth it most of the time
for ridiculous stuff they are nice but safe spots abound

The following are fairly good in reaper (some are already listed in the non-reaper/old section):

8 druid/6 monk/6 ranger wolf build - shed defenses for clearing held trash and bosses (meld and/or a tank holding aggro from you)

fury thrower - any variant with sniper shot, slayer arrow, abundant step

staff builds (haven't been mentioned by anyone else but I've been impressed by mine) - high dodge, high helpless damage, dodge boosts, and gtfo abilities in the form of either vault or abundant step, high saves / evasion

There are a few others that I can think of but need more testing (on my part) before I'm willing to recommend them to others: handwrap monks, roulette tanks, dps assassins, etc.
