First person does eliminate a lot of issues. DDO has to worry about skin, hair, lips, eyes, cosmetic armor and all aspects of running, swimming, sitting, attack sequences, etc. With this, all that matters are your forearms, hands and weapons.
Well, other players can see you of course, and as I recall, there was supposed to be some sort of inspect mode, where you can look over your character.
It is a lot more immersive as well. In real life, you wouldn't be able to see an enemy sneaking up behind you. Also, they were talking about possible support for Oculus Rift. So, that could be fun.
