This is nothing but a PR exercise to give the playerbase some hope and distract from the recent news.� it is the only way to keep players to keep playing/spending while WB/Turdbine works out the cleanest way to exit. Sev wouldn't know if he has a job for this Xmas, let alone producing an expansion for next Xmas. Resources have been cut - what are they going to produce this mystical expansion with? Sev's post is complete and utter bullshit. The timeframe is so far out as to give Sev a credible excuse to say, "oh well, we tried but mgmt plans changed". This assumes he has a conscience. He could blatantly lie - what are consequences? Nothing! There is nothing the player base could do if WB shut it down next week.

Everquest had developers that were actually qualified to be developers though.� Most of the stuff they put out worked the way it was supposed to when it was released.� More importantly, they had a pretty good track record of going back to fix the things that didn't work right. Hirelings would be a prime example.� When the hireling system was added to EQ, the AI was only marginally better than DDO's hirelings.� 6 months later though, hirelings were pretty good and worth using. On the other hand, here is what DDO's hirelings bring to mind:
