For sure.  Especially since this endgame gear will be relevant for the life of the toon or at least until something better comes out in 3 months.

So figure on 7k runs in 10 weeks, use gear for 2 weeks, replace in 10 weeks with next new thing.  Rinse, repeat if desired.

We're estimating ~100 runs.

Some guildies are up to 20 runs atm.

It's about a month and a half if you play religiously. I may honestly not participate this time around---we'll see.

If sev confirms reaper in a producer's letter, then I'll commit.

I was just trolling. If they confirm reaper and give any hint that next big update would avoid accessories (maybe armorand weapons again?) then I would consider it. For casters the set bonuses seem way more important (artifact DC's yummy) but for melees or ranged perhaps slightly less necessary.

with ransack tho 100 runs is still like what, 14 week/4 months? Ofc that doesn't count alts passing or dual boxing.

I guess what's cool is you could make a 5 piece set for 2000 mats with no abilities on the items, and for another 2000 you could have 1 ability on each thing. So really 4000 matts to get to a useful place, and 6000-8000 to really nail it. Slots are sort of meh and could be held off on for a long time I think.

I just wish there was more than these 3 boring quests to run to get these mats. That's where Turbine always fucks it up so hard.

Any quest 32 and over should drop a convertible mat that you can exchange for these. Don't limit the content people can run unless you want people to get board and leave.

10 runs to ransack yielded ~250 of each mat. So 28 runs/item. 4 runs/set bonus.

3 crafted, 2 set bonus = 100 runs

It works out exactly like 20th completion lists. Probably engineered that way. Always take common mats from chain reward.

the symbol of the slave lords is kinda hard to get. am 26~ runs of the chain deep and only have 198 symbols. i guess it would be a bit higher since 2 of those runs were LH. but still.... turbine is so whack

The best answer to that depends entirely on which build you're running.  Wasn't terribly impressed with improvements that slave lords' stuff gives you over a good set of pre-u32 gear on a Shiradi.   It doesn't seem to be worth the grind required for minimal upgrades.

I think the slave lord gear would be more beneficial on a melee, ranged or DC caster though.

Figure I'll sit down this weekend and see what's what, work it all out. Was just curious if anyone had already done that.

I've noticed how some folks feel the need to justify endless grind for some minuscule improvement on 'jump-thru-the-hoops' "end" gear, when you can make something far easier and almost as good, without any chance of overlap or wasted effects. I would figure people would WANT specific and focused gear for their builds, not this one size fits all end gear horseshit they keep dangling in front of us.
