Why even punctuate the sentence with a . if you are not going to capitalize the first letter of the sentence.  That's just stupid man.

But at the same time, the "new" (for the last 20 years or so) rule is single space after a period. Like that. Unlike above.

Been doing single spaces after periods since elementary school. Not new to me at all.

This was the first time I heard of the single space after a period.  I was taught double space after a period when I learned how to type in '89 and it is a habit that will be difficult to break so I'm not going to change now.

Damn I'm old.  I heard the kids don't even learn cursive anymore.  How are they supposed to be able to fake a doctor's prescription for oxy without that knowledge.  School's should be teaching these necessary life skills.

You don't have to know cursive, just the DEA number.  Scripts are printed, hack the system and make some kind of scribble, doesn't have to be legible.  Schools are teaching computers, eventually kids will learn hacking 101.

As a matter of fact I wrote all of my ENG 1** essays back in school that way, and it wasn't marked grammatically incorrect iirc.  Professors probably just paid more attention to making sure you stayed on the specified format instead.

***Side note*** I do remember those little piddly format guide books being expensive enough to still piss me off.l
