anyoen know what the mechanic is? can do the puzzles but the king and dragon have a shit ton of HP. seems like there is a mechanic im missing

Learn to read.  I didn't say anything about having enough DPS being good or bad. 

I said that type of design lacked creativity, just like most of your comments.
