	Went to play today and my launcher gets stuck on "installing pre-reqs"

	I'll never understand the propensity of people to brag about being good at a video game. Its a toy you play with for fun. The only person who should be proud of you is your mother. If you're 3.

	Go to task manager and close Akamai. You may have a bugged instance of it running.

	Don't let the lack of Akamai hold you back from your punching duty. Other issue I've had where I hung on that was when for some reason or another the DDO site got blocked. That's the same place you stop when you aren't connected for whatever reason.

	I have the Keep Launcher Open option checked. Updates hang every time unless I close the launcher first.

	On one computer I occasionally get stuck on Installing Pre-Reqs as well. It's not exactly intuitive, but in my case, restarting Windows Explorer solves the problem. Worth trying. Obviously restarting the computer also helps.

	don't use official launcher.. The alternate ones are better and never get stuck at "installing pre-requisites".

	Rebooting seems to do the trick. But it happened again today I already use preload, but I haven't had particularly great experiences with the alt launchers recently. DDO ML was great until they decided to incorporate some kind of weird encryption that required you to magically know how to use some random-ass third-party encryption program. That was the end of that.

	DDO ML is the only alternate one I experimented with, there was no point in using anything else, but when the server change made the old one no longer function.

	you install it where you want. ( preferably not far from your DDO install directory ) once installed you start it... ( you'll need to run as admin ) Then you go in tools -> switch game -> DDO Then you go to Tools -> Options and tell it where is located your DDO install and if you use High Res textures. The rest is self explanatory... the Tools-> patch allows you to patch the game when it's patch day without having to install akamai netsession. You can even have L-Space installed in parallel rince the above and repeat with DDO (Test) and the Lamania install directory. Oh and you can also have LoTRO ( and test ) in the same launcher at the same time. Edit and since it's SSOIDH :
