After hearing Turbine and Warner were no longer in control I was curious.

The answer is it depends. They seem to be doing some of the same issues as before.

However, the U36 quests are genuinely good imo. I especially like strike back and the capstone.

I think having torc back is a really big boost - even if he doesn't hit it on the head every time, he's by far the best content developer the game has ever had.

Ravenloft will either keep the game afloat or break it entirely. I know if they fail to live up to the promise of an expansion - it will finally be enough for me to call it quits. I'm hoping they do good on this, and I see a lot of my guildies and friends return to playing the game.

Additionally, one way or another a server merge is a necessity at this point (even moreso if ravenloft fails to bring back players).

Definitely thinking about it, I have heard that the devs are paying more attention to the players now that Turbine/Warner no longer have them on a leash.

We're not doing donuts anymore?

I'd say it's roughly still the same game you left; all changes have been lateral.  There have been some amazing improvements in the game - and for everything they've made better, they've managed to fuck something else up equally as bad.  Meanwhile, some of the things that should have been fixed years ago remain broken.

Way less people playing it, so get good at soloing or join a big guild, what few pugs there are tend to be reaper or go home.

Turbine policy - glitches and poor coding resulting in interference of your game play or enjoyment will be ignored.  Glitches or poor coding on the developers side that at all benefit your game play or enjoyment will result in your character being banned and/or items from your inventory deleted.  Please report all bugs via our bug report...when it works.

just install the game and check... depending on your last time on, you might get a bit lost...
But don't worry, get back with your old buddies that stayed on and they will explain you all the good ( rare), bad ( lots ), odious ( lots too ) system changes that makes your FVS build from two years ago look a wimp.

do you care about builds or active combat? if so, then NO.

Do you have friends you like to mindlessly run around with shooting the shit and not really do anything but click 4 active attacks or spells over and and over? If so, then there's probably better games out there for that like WoW. So, no.

I don't think so. I think one of the things that would make me try to come back is the fat walrus being fired.

In light of the unofficial changes AND the flippant response or null response we get from devs, I've decided to take a break from the game till ravenloft is released.

The fact that there wasn't a single dev post about the undocumented changes in U36 thread (jak's) and the repeated lying or complete negligence about drop rates has finally done me in.

Wish you all best of luck in your endeavors!
