agree, and I cant begin to count the hours I have played.
I'm all in, mainly because I don't want to wait for the iconic to be in the store and as an incentive for them to make more.

I'm calling it a birthday present to justify it to my wife tho....

That's what I'm also considering... no point wasting more money, the tree will be available in store, and the rest is meh.

If the prices were cut in half, I'd consider the second or top tier packages.

As is and with basically nothing bundled with the basic package, it looks like I won't be running Ravenloft.

Fucking Turbine.

I'll wait until it's available for points like I got MOTU or 85% off like I got Shadowfail.
$40, no thanks. They haven't earned me spending money on this game again.

Witcher 3 GOTY for 20 bucks on Steam.

40 is pretty penny for some people around the world but for me I at least give it a thought before spending it on almost dead mmo with nonexistent quality and customer service record.
And "preordering" this stuff or "higher" editions are just utter insanity.
But hey, I got Motu for 6 reds lol.

Ultimately it's about the value of the dollar to you.

For example Shoemaker can barely afford to feed his daughter and regularly begs for money so he'll obviously get the cheap bundle.  Oh wait...

Anyways, for the rest of us with day jobs and functional family lives it's really up for grabs.  DDO is the only MMO I play anymore and at one point I was 5-boxing WoW.  I don't mind spending extra cash on silly/fun things.

I've posted many times that I wish we could get spell cosmetics.  I'd pay 2 bucks here and there for like, a new dimension door skin or for my death aura to be red and purple with a skull floating about or whatever.

Even if they did this the proper way and put the 'useful' stuff in the CE and kept the fluff pack all fluff, I'd still buy the fluff version.  I mean that's really the only thing I'm upset about is that they're packaging the 'high value' stuff in the 'fluff' bundle.

That's an unethical thing to do and it makes me upset that SSG keeps doing shit like that.

Anyways...

I know it's a shitty value but I'm not exactly begging for cash on a Twitch stream where I edit a wiki.

Shadow of War costs $59.99 for standard edition up to $99.99 for gold edition.  I'll get more play time out of Ravenloft than that.

Can't tell if he's just a fanboi paladin type, or has amazing powers to see the future to know how much replayability it will have.

Quite steep prices for a dying game. I can't seem to make my mind coming back to playing again as there are not enough people playing it anymore. If they were to merge servers and there were enough people to play the new content I could give the lowest price edition a go. But the way it is now, its just meh. I'll keep on playing other stuff.

Meh.  No reason to buy anything now, these don't say "pre-order" or suggest that there are any "extras" for pre-ordering, so I'll wait for more info, but while I can easily afford $130 clearly SSG doesn't want my money, fuck pets, cosmetics, shrines, etc... how much will the racial tomes be 1295 SSG points?  And I only need 1, 2 at the most.  looks like the basic expansion for me...

Just looking at past behavior.  I've run the shit out of wheloon and stormhorns.  I have probably run MoTU content more than any other content in the past 5 years.  Sure this could be content I don't enjoy, but then the same could be said for Shadow of War, or any game you buy.  There is risk that you don't like it as much as you think you will.  But that risk exists with every entertainment option.

I've spent 60-70 bucks to take my family to a movie and been massively disappointed.  And that was for 2 hours of content.

I've gone out to dinner for a few hours and dropped a similar amount to have a bad meal.  It happens.

If you are concerned, don't buy it.  I'm not that concerned.

I agree about the expansion, $40 is not an issue.  It's just the collectors and ultimate editions that are just really weak.  I see now that at the bottom of the page it says "pre-order" but as a VIP there isn't anything offered in the "Pre-order" base package that I won't be able to get at any time.  I guess I am not the right demographic, but it seems, based on the motherboards that I am not alone as someone who has pretty much always bought the upper tiers of expansion packs, and this time will not.....

But those racial tomes could mean value.. the $129 one is well worth it if you play lots of toons..

Those things will be like $10 to $15 a piece.. They'll probably be comparable in cost to a +1 tome of fate which is roughly $9 assuming no part of your points used for the transaction are free and you use the worst point/$ rate.

if you have 10 toons like some guildies and friends i know.. than its totally worth it. If you play 10 characters, do you really need that tome for all of them?

And if youre vip all day anyways like myself.. that knocks like $20  off that i was gonna spend later anyways At the current promotional rate of 15 months for $100, it works out to $13 and change

So for $60 or $70 more i get a good amount of shit... a bunch of garbage too but idgaf..
I have 5 toons i play atm.. thats like $50 worth of tomes min.. was gonna get dat shit 1st thing too.. then

At this point im saving like $10 then..

140 astral shards.. ill take it for free..

the enhancement tree like $15 or so. You'll be able to get it for free with RL favor.

New iconic.. about $15..

10 shared bank slots.. like $10

Then all the stupid pets and cosmetics ill never use.. $0

Bottle of mist? Idk about this shit $?

Weapon aura... ya id prolly never buy it but free is fine.. $?

So im only $20 ahead if i bought all the shit that comes with it..(which i would).. plus any other future toons would have the tomes.. and whatever else..

Actually, even if you decide to buy a +1 tome for each of your 5 characters you're behind. 5 x 9 (+1 tomes) +
15 (iconic) + 10 (shared bank slots) + 13 (2 months of vip) = $85. You're $5 behind, not $20 ahead.

A handful of fanbois aside, most people are let down by this shitty offering and it's a bad blow for DDO no matter how much you fanbois will bleat that it isn't. People are not coming back for this and current players are very meh about it already
