Star Citizen gets even more absurd

They are asking for $27k to unlock all available ships when/if the game comes out. However to view the purchase page, you need to pony up $1k.

I don't know if I should be more awestruck by the audacity of the people behind the SC scam or gullibility of the idiots that keep throwing cash at them.

Is that an actual 27k in-game purchase or is it an investor perk? I put something like $3k into Shroud of the Avatar, but it was on buying shares in the company that happened to come with some fancy in-game perks.
  
I'll never understand the propensity of people to brag about being good at a video game. Its a toy you play with for fun. The only person who should be proud of you is your mother. If you're 3.
