Non-iconic, 2H druid build for 1-20

Been trying to come up with a non-iconic, 2H druid build without using monk for 1-20 as I do not have epic destinies yet.

Tried out several trees in a character planner...my initial impressions are that you pretty much need to multiclass as the Nature's Defender tree is very shield focused, the Nature's Warrior tree's t5 and later enhancements are not very good compared to barb/fighter equivalents and you would have excess AP left over.

11 points in Nature's Defender seems to get you something similar to Stalwart Defense, leaving 69 points for Nature's warrior + another tree.

I know barb synergizes with druid because nature's defense can be used while raged, but I didn't like the rage mechanic so tried to come up with a fighter multiclass for it.

I ended up with a human druid 12/fighter 8 with the Kensei T5. I think it might be too squishy (PRR/MRR and HP are lower than a fighter, and I dont think druid spells would close the gap) and a lot of the damage is from the kensai tree, which comes pretty late as I would be taking druid levels first to reach winter wolf ASAP.

Tree :

I would probably do Nature's defender first -> Nature's warrior -> Kensei for enhancements.

Human Druid 12/Fighter 8, Kensei T5, 2H melee build

Str : 18
Dex : 14
Con : 16
Int : 10
Wis : 10
Cha : 8

I do not have a supreme ability tome. I could do 16 dex, but that would mean dropping int and wis to 8 and im not sure if +1 AC/reflex is worth it really.

Progression :

Level 1 : Druid, power attack + martial proficiency (Greatsword), swap to greataxe at level 4, swap to cleave at level 5
Level 2 : Druid, Wolf form
Level 3 : Druid (Cleave), swap to natural fighting at level 5
Level 4 : Druid
Level 5 : Fighter, great cleave
Level 6 : Druid, natural fighting 2
Level 7 : Druid
Level 8 : Druid
Level 9 : Druid, Natural fighting 3, winter wolf form
Level 10 : Druid
Level 11 : Fighter, Improved Critical
Level 12 : Fighter, Dodge
Level 13 : Fighter, Weapon Focus
Level 14: Fighter
Level 15 : Fighter, Mobility, Weapon Specialization
Level 16 : Fighter
Level 17 : Druid, Greater Weapon Focus
Level 18 : Druid, Spring Attack
Level 19 : Druid
Level 20 : Druid

The order of classes was done to get Great Cleave ASAP, followed by winter wolf form. Feat swapping is to use Nicked Greatsword at level 2 then switching to the Antique Greataxe at level 4. I took a 9th level of druid after getting winter wolf to get access to 5th level spells, mainly because of stone skin and reincarnate.

I'm not sure if it's a good idea to focus on druid levels first, or fighter, or whether it will have enough damage before getting the later Kensei enhancements. Anyone have any suggestions, etc?

I also tried coming up with a build that could do traps, basically 11 druid/8 fighter/1 rogue, but I'm not confident I can meet search DCs with my current gear and lack of tomes, so I shelved that idea for now.

OK so I got the build up to Druid 5/Fighter 1. Feat swaps didnt work out...I didnt realise there was a 3 day timer for swapping feats with plat. Not a big deal though.

I used random light/medium armor that I found till I got to level 6, at which point I swapped to Illicit Warding Armor from Price of Freedom. Still squishier than a fighter, but survivability is decent with blur. Damage seems on par with a fighter...no glancing blows, but higher attack speed. Pet is mostly useless with the buggy collars not letting it bypass magic DR, low hp, and other issues.

Take down is pretty amazing...pretty much shuts any champ down at low levels and doesn't require any AP or feats. Cleave damage is not very good as its based off per hit damage rather than DPS, but its fine for leveling in early heroics at least.
