It's a Drizzt, Cattie Brie, Bruenor, and Wulfgar third-person  game. Looks like it's going to have single-player and co-op modes.

Might be interesting.

The more interesting part of this to me is the fact they seem to be using 3.5e or atleast pre-Spellplague versions of the characters.

Granted I'm still trying to slog through the new books. But as far as I know in the new ones Cattie-Brie has gone full caster being a weird wizard/cleric hybrid. That's definitely showing the old Cattie-Brie with bow in hand and she's also not a desai tribesman either like the new version of the character.

Cattie Brie turned into a Mystic Theurge (Wizard/Cleric) after the Spellplague for sure.

I guess they went pre-Spellplague so nothing in the game can seemingly dictate or predict future events in the Realms. All that pre-Spellplague stuff is set in stone and this new game will have to respect those events in its story.

Makes sense. Based on the trailer I saw I'm guessing it'll be focused in the King Obould saga. That way they can throw endless waves of fodder at you to fit that gameplay style.

I think she is more Druid/Wizard, but I could be wrong.  with a Fighter  PL, though.

She's a divine caster who worships Mielikki but that doesn't necessarily make her a Druid anymore than worshiping Mielikki makes Drizzt a Druid.

Pikel is a Druid (as I'm sure you know) and Salvatore has made that clear in several ways including making him cast obvious Druid spells.

I don't recall the writer making Cattie-Brie cast any Druid-only spells in any of the post-Spellplague books and could easily have done so. The problem is I can't remember Salvatore having her cast any Cleric-only spells, either.

So I can't guarantee she's a Cleric, but I'm reasonably sure she is based on what I recall about how she acted and what she did since she was reborn.

But she's definitely part Wizard and has a Fighter PL, for sure.

Quote:
In her second life, from a young age, Catti-brie was able to cast both divine and arcane spells. She was able to use healing magic from Mielikki from the age of five. She was well-versed in both new and old arcane magic,[42] and was particularly fond of flashy evocations. She also had an affinity for druidic magic, including the spell call lightning. Until her shapeshifting left her upon the return of the Weave in 1479 DR, she was able to shapeshift into the following forms: wolf, owl, hawk,[56] and eagle.

She was/is Mielikki's Chosen, it's not clear if she still is and also has some knowledge I think she learned some from the Primordial Maegera via a ring that allowed her to communicate telepathically and also to understand Ignan the language of the plane of fire. This communion with Maegera gave her some insight into the primordials and that type of magic etc etc.

She is mostly wizard I think due to her knowledge that carried over from her previous life and all the wizard training she acquired in her second life from the harpells, her time with the netherese and her mother from her second life.  It's not sure she has splashes of anything else as her abilities do not come from the usual route though I think a small splash of cleric and with some fighter pl seems right.

Her druidic seeming skill could possibly be some kind of benefit of being in the Mielikki Heaven with Regis where it was hinted she was a guardian of some sort of that realm where Regis was just a temp visitor/occupant.

According to the wiki she also prefers magic over archery as she is not as skillful with archery as she was in her first life.
