It is terrible, it just breaks my heart seeing this happen.
I feel you. It's always painful watching someone shoot themselves in their foot.
Duping only exists because they've made the game so grindy it's become more of a chore instead of running quests/raids for fun.
Duping only exists because (with a few exceptions) they've mostly failed at creating decent, stand-alone gear and anything else worth having is a tedious grind.
Duping only exists because they've repeatedly failed in creating decent VIP packages worth subscribing to, instead always returning to their one tool tool box of 'grind grind grind' for revenue.
Duping only exists because they've failed in making a store full of decent items at reasonable prices.
The money being made in the ddo dupe store now is profit Turbine could have been making if anyone there had a half ass clue on how to market and sell or (failing that) enough sense to take the ton of free good advice that's been given to them by pros who do that for a living.
They exploit the players daily to try to stay afloat because they're flat out not qualified to do their own jobs. It sucks it's come to this, but I have zero sympathy about watching them sink into the quagmire of their own creation.
