I took that as indication of a troll well done Grin

That is a spectacular moment in trolling.

Side-note: was fark.com run by cordovan? that sounds like the same level of logic behind his bans.

I'll never understand the propensity of people to brag about being good at a video game. Its a toy you play with for fun. The only person who should be proud of you is your mother. If you're 3.

They will eventually put loggers in for ottos trades if they are not retarded.

I always suspected their meetings for dealing with duping go along these lines:

"Ok, we need a quick, easy script to monitor the problem.  Who can whip up the code?"

Silence, shrugs, awkward coughs.

"Or...I guess we can just have the GMs randomly log into accounts and look for suspicious amounts and hope we're not about to ban a whale for just spending a lot of money..."

Turbine policy - glitches and poor coding resulting in interference of your game play or enjoyment will be ignored.  Glitches or poor coding on the developers side that at all benefit your game play or enjoyment will result in your character being banned and/or items from your inventory deleted.  Please report all bugs via our bug report...when it works.

I’ve seen people hanging at the hall of heroes just standing at the reincarnation grove lately. Guilded player level 30 just watching. Some of it is probably narc driven.

If I recall correctly, the Orchard turn-ins were mostly narc driven.  Used to be a ton of non-guilded, 1st level or iconic toons hiding in bushes and on top of pillars watching before they put an end to it.

Because you'd need someone who can code to making a monitoring script  Wink

I think their policy is that if they have to moderate, they throw out a ban. Which is fair enough, IMO.

Where they went wrong was in refusing to back off when they realized they fell for a simple troll. Some people just don't like admitting that they can be fooled. I especially got a kick out of the "but it could be someone else's credit card number!" reply I received. So, what, are you now going to ban any 16-digit numerical strings, because they might be a credit card number?
