at least they are not lazy.

DDO used to have double or maybe even tripple the manpower of today and they released fucking nothing for months. See release notes and dates if you didn´t play back in the 2006-2012 era..

What quest from the past is more complex then the ones they release today? Today being since ravenloft and on, I´d guess..

With that said, I still think that sharn is a steaming pile of fucking shit quests. Also, the old ones might have fantastic story lines and such bravada that I´ve just missed, so I´m not being facetious...

Well seeing as this is the internet I didn't think it through fully before posting... buuut things like Chains of Flame and some other bits from around then. Maybe even qs like Gwylan's. These days I expect low ceilings, narrow corridors and clumps of mobs as I run through lots of similar looking dungeons/caves/whatever.

Not dissing the new ones - love the loot lottery so short, simple stab and run quests suit me - but they don't seem very interesting. Some of them, like some of the Feywild qs, look like interesting concepts but then turn out to be tiny and easily run in under a few mins.

They had walking orders from WoTC/Hasbro for Ravenloft. It had to be exactly ( or as near as possible ) like the PnP campaign book that was released at the same time. NWO also had the same walking orders since they also released Ravenloft at about the same time ( give or take a few weeks ).

You can actually use the Ravenloft PnP Book to go through the quests ( the encounters are the same, the traps and secret doors are where they are located in the book, the maps & dungeon plans are identical.
