I have no idea what actually happened, but one thing that's always a red flag is when a clearly inexperienced player hops into a reaper LFM, then gets into the quest and does nothing but die.

If you don't know the quest, then make it clear to the leader. Even then, it's not like the leader is obligated to spend his/her time to teach you everything... especially if it's reaper. Simply read the DDO wiki entry for a few minutes, or if you really care about a quest, figure it out on your own time. That's what I did for countless quests, rather than bog down and annoy my team members.

And if you can't handle hard/elite difficulty, you shouldn't be joining a reaper group. There's nothing wrong with being a newb (we all were new at some point) but just know your limits. Back when I was starting out in 2010, I consciously avoided most elite LFMs because I knew my character wasn't ready for them yet. I don't see what's so hard about that.

This isn't a matter of being a "beta player" or whatever, it's just a matter of common sense.

Agree, but there are no other options for new players.
They want to play and all group play in kinda crancked up.
They cant catch up. they can but for that they need experience. which soloing is kinda meh, in group, being carried by you, they will get there.. eventually. much later

Im gimp. I have lvl 30 old Auralock alt that I havent changed since warlocks came out.
If I make a healer/gimp or messed up toon ( which I do often), I dual box my epics because I know there isnt a sigle thing i can contribute to the party except +1% experience bonus. But I know that and accept it cause im old noob.

Young noobs don't know that but want to play.

I can make the worse character with 2 lvl of warlock and ooze/ash/dust weapon and Im usefull/eveng LGS knowledge is kinda overwhelming. and dont go wiki, you would sooner finish a second diploma then understand all DDO crafting systems) but thats you vault elitist meta knowledge.

I know what you mean and I totally agreed. my point is his arrogancy.

he booted in reaper raid group because he never played it on even hard before and he doesn't know even how to dance. and he sniveling on the forum to make ppl blame that party leader. he's just a hypocrite pretend to someone worried about the server population.

Only a beta calls people beta... unless they are from the south cause that whole accent is a minefield.

I'm a big fan of not running a first time through any raid on reaper. OP should have joined a regular run for their first instead of thinking his past accomplishments meant he deserved a spot there, but the party leader needs to set proper expectations with the LFM and put that they don't want people unfamiliar with the raid in the run.

I'm surprised he's not bitching about us, but we've been relatively nice to the pugs lately.

It warms the cackles of my nihilistic heart every time the mobos devolve into a particularly shitty episode of Dr Phil.

It makes me laugh when people start talking about being “alpha” and “beta” in online video games.

Inexperience is a place we all have to start.  I don’t mind slower paces or mistakes because of this because I know I’ve made plenty.     For example, the WPM slippery path over the trap pit.

Then there are just people who are like hyper kids running past every lock out point and generally being restless and troublesome constantly.  That is pretty annoying but I can just keep my distance or handle appropriately knowing how they are.

But the worse for me are the assholes.  These people have the holier than thou attitude that makes me want to drive my thumb into their eye socket through the screen.  I just ignore them and don’t feed in but I can’t help thinking what it would feel like locked in a cage with them..mmmmmmm..

So beginners ok, dumb less ok, assholes missing an eye.

yeah, asshole is always a problem. people usually don't care how they are new or dumb in regular normal or hard raid because it's easy. but newest r1 raid? If you hit the lfm without knowing the content, you are an asshole.

I think the party leader's attitude is no problem, the problem is OP's arrogance. he has big ego.

That´s funny -- I´m quite opposite, if I hit an LFM  I assume I´m not the guy to trigger the group towards success and not failure. When I post one, I know I can complete it, no matter who joins it - raids included since I wouldn´t LFM one without 3-4 capable friends. Hoping for pugs to make your day. jesus christ titty fucking....

98% of the raids I have ever done are pugs, but on khyber it’s all the usual subjects so we know what we are getting most of the time.  Like when people post rangers need not apply, or now bow instruments allowed, we have a hard or have a twist in Fatesinger.   Soon as everyone learns my antics for making raids too easy with my massive hanging DPS, I will only see “xxx has declined your invitation...

So the real problem is saving up enough free non boycotted ddo points for my name change where I will add a “-1” to the end of my name and again rain down DPS upon Khyber!
