Just look at the vault idiots who even admit they pay extra money, or buy the new content right away even if they don't have 2 pennies to rub together.
This is what surprises me more than anything. I would think that the Vault would be the one place where people don't fork over their hard-earned cash to Turbine. This is part of the problem;
why should Turbine improve if even its most ardent critics are still going to unconditionally give them money?noamineo wrote on Jul 25

And you should stop spending money on it.
I did. Many years ago. Pretty sure I've mentioned this several times in other threads.
In the past, when I was satisfied with the way Turbine ran things, I spent money (probably a couple hundo in total) to buy adventure packs and whatnot. Now I can play the game 100% for free. I have every single expansion pack, every class, and every race except Tabaxi. And I haven't spent a dime on the game in at least 5 years. However, I WOULD find an excuse to spend money on the game if Turbine ever changed their ways and showed a commitment to improvement. (Which they won't.)
A VIP subscription is hardly getting you anything, anyway. If you have played for years and done a lot of reincarnating, then you should have easily accumulated enough TP to buy all the content you need.

It’s the best Dungeons & Dragons MMO available
Can't believe I'm actually responding to Gunga, but it's far from the best
game available. If you broaden your horizons beyond an extremely niche subgenre of a subgenre, you'll find that there are hundreds, if not thousands, of games which are more spending money on.
I'd rather continue to play for free, occasionally enjoying the nostalgia DDO gives me, and then give my money to developers who actually give a shit. That's, again, how a free market economy should work - you spend your money on quality products made by people who care. If DDO goes belly up, I honestly am not sure I would care too much. At any rate, bankruptcy doesn't happen overnight, and it's not like Turbine doesn't have time to improve. They've had an entire decade of continuously fucking up almost everything good that still remains in their withered, moribund husk of a game corpse.
