I'm happy to be able to say that the Shadowblades in the TR cache (main and offhand) will be resolved early next week, Wednesday at the latest.

I understand the frustration in not being able to TR. I'm new to the team and I made mistakes in my first two attempts to fix the issue. For that I'm sorry.

Please know that I don't take these failures lightly. I take all of your feedback to heart. I will continue to do my best to not let you all down.

Nice change from all the filthy lies they've been spewing the past few weeks about why everything is fucked up.

I hope it works out for Friar so he can show Lynn what is like to be a quick learner and proper Dev without dragging their personal life into it.

At least he seems to be posting on the forums to gather feedback, test things based on user reports and trying to fix stuff, which is way more than the usual SSG standard.

Thats what happens when devs believe they know best and anyone who disagrees is clearly in the wrong and knows nothing.

And thats how you get shitty archetype trees even though everyone kept trying to tell them during lam that they were bad.

Lam is a preview server, not a test server.

Then Cordo all but admitted feedback on lam was a waste of time.

Anyone, RE: the shadowblade fix; is anyone surprised it took a new dev a couple of tries to make sense of this ridiculous mess of spaghetti code?

I try to imagine him looking at DDO's code for the first time.

I'll never understand the propensity of people to brag about being good at a video game. Its a toy you play with for fun. The only person who should be proud of you is your mother. If you're 3.

I submit to you that most of the feedback the devs have to sift through is a lot like the shit Annoyamenow spews here ad nauseum. Any developer with half a brain would ignore us too.

Isn't that what the player's council and their partnered streamers are supposed to be for, to give them higher level feedback? Then again, Strimtom died to a famine reaper's sonic blast on hardcore and complained it needed to be nerfed.

Player's Council? Is that still a thing??

I thought that was disbanded long ago.

After they came up with the new site, they had a news post saying they were recruiting for the player's council : https://www.ddo.com/news/ddo-players-council

Dated Feb 2022, but i suspect it might just be dated that way because they were manually restoring the news from the old site, or something like that. It doesnt look like there has been any update on this since then.

Quote:
One of the larger misconceptions we hear from people who haven't been on the Council is the belief that this is a voting body. It isn't, and never has been. Participants don't decide on our schedule or represent the DDO community-at-large. They represent themselves, their personal opinion, and to some extent the kind of playstyle and subset of the community they gravitate toward. This is BY DESIGN. We don't do votes because the point isn't to get a majority opinion. Rather, it's to get diverse and comprehensive feedback from as wide a cross-section of the community as we can manage in a small group setting. So far we've been pretty successful at this, and we hope it continues in the future.
