Your AC is probably not going to be high enough to matter, even with your wisdom bonus.  So to maintain evasion you have your choice of robes or light armor, whichever has properties on it that you are comfortable with.  If you can get a shroud item or dragontouched with radiance guard on it, that helps a lot with damage mitigation because it procs all the time and blinds mobs, giving them a 50% miss chance.

Unfortunately, there isn't much clerics can do in terms of DR - that's another area where favored souls are far superior, especially warforged.  Yet another reason why I can't bring myself to play my two capped clerics now that I have a fvs.  Sad

Aside from radiance guard though, you could try to pick up earthgrab guard and freezing ice guard.  Those would help both to mitigate damage and help you kill faster with autocrits, yet not have the side effect of accidentally killing mobs you're trying to keep alive.  Melodic guard on DT is also pretty nice, though not something you can solely rely on due to a lower proc rate.

I tried to put this in "nice terms" on the other forums, but here you can feel free to give me real advice or just call me a noob.  Matter of fact, I'm sure Visty will be in here to tell me I suck any second.  I'm cool with that.  Wink

(Background: My main is a TR'ed Clonk, so I've capped and re-capped a CLR- it's the melee stuff I need help with)

I want to play around with a "battle-capable" Cleric which will prob be heavily multiclassed- I'm thinking end build will be 12 CLR/2 FTR/6 PAL.  Str-based (as in all levels into STR), THF. Human.

Explaining the 12 CLR levels is easy- Radiant servant Aura, Heal Spell and at least Mass Cure Mod- a weak BB, but it still hits.  Self-buffing, 30 pt. resists, no-fail res and Heal scrolling.

Fighter Levels- For the feats

Pally levels- On advice of guildies for smites, saves and other things I don't really understand yet.  Undecided

ATM, she's level 14- I can crit as high as 150 buffed and my cures hit for a decent amount, i.e. I was able to heal through Running With the Devils today on Norm (Level 16 quest).  She relies heavily on Aura healing, knows when to use scrolls to supplement SP and has a bag of other CLR tricks to conserve resources.

How much does this suck and why?  Viable support DPS/Heals, or should I just have rolled a Bard?  Should I ignore the Pally and take 6MNK?

If you don't think it sucks too much, gear selection tips would be appreciated.  I especially need to know the best slotting for STR items and what armor you would suggest.

I would try this build.  Has all the important abilities.  Evasion, Good Healing, Awesome Melee.  Could solo anything and still heal a raid.

Good question. I would put them into balance or something.
Maybe a couple into tumble.

Visty and Aranticus,

Power attack.  Unfortunately theres 2 more feats i would love to have with this build but to be an effective fighter and healer both have to give a little on both.

No Maximize and no PA.

Notice I used empower.  Because empower is a Favored Soul specialty.  Reduction in mana cost to use.  Empower will increase blade barriers as well as effect your heals.

Heal,  well its an old concept but it only requires one person in the group with a high enough heal and when the group shrines everybody who is not WF heals a LOT more "saves mana".

So I suppose I could put it into tumble "why?"  Everybody has feather fall.

Balance is cool but not a class skill soooo what get a 9 balance instead of a 4.

P.S. and yes this is my next TR build for my sorc!   Tongue

Well, guys-
She had her first Shroud less than 5 minutes ago at Level 15!  I wasn't carried through by uber geared 20s, this was an all guild Novus Vinco alt run with most other characters in the same level and gear range and some (around 4?) 20s.

Was a little skeptical, as I only have ~325 HP at lvl. 15, but it was a smooth run with no deaths.  Smiley

Thanks to all who helped!

i would rather drop arcane prodigy than miss out PA. by L16 a fvs will have more sp than a L20 clr. getting 100 or so sp doesnt really cut it. the elemental damage is nice but i rather use bb like what you mentioned. i agree empower is a must as it is very synergistic with a fvs

as to heal, sorry but i have never really encountered the need to shrine on my melees except to restore my clickies and both my clr and fvs seldom have the need to stand near others when they shrine since i'm seldom out of sp, even when i'm very generous with my blade barriers

btw with your wisdom, your bb are not going to be very effective

Lookin' fun so far!  Able to decently take down Amrath Orthons in Sins today...

Might make a few tweaks and put up in both forums once I cap and am sure of final stats.  Seems like quite a few people are interested in a Rad. Servant II multiclass...
