exploiter....

Hi guys,

Ok, im gonna ask some build advice. Please done flam..... actually do what you like but after that, some advice plz Cheesy

Ive capped a few chars now but only ever 1 cleric and some arcanes. The highest fully melee I made was a 16 drow ranger back when i started.

I been looking at making, well, i was gonna go 18/2 ranger monk. then i decided i would like some trapsmithing in there. Had a look around and realised I was starting to look at a build similar to the exploiter.

Few questions here.

firstly is the exploiter still a working, end game contributing build..... theres been quite a few game changes since it came out.

Next, When i was measuring up the ranger monk it seemed like dwarf was good for stats. I was able to get a....

16
15
16
10
14
6

Ive not played any sucessful dwarfs so I like the idea of this. Nice racial bonuses, can get dwarven con and ranger dex, if needed although id probably just eat a tome. So, would a dwarf still be viable once i add a bit of rogue to the mix?

Next, this monk AC from wisdom bonus..... A. it does stack with the dex bonus yea? and B...... where the heck is it Cheesy im using the 3.5.1 char builder and I cant find it as a feat..... or enhancment.

Cheers for the help.

Sod you, for the flames.

And im sure I will have more questions once i get rolling Smiley

EDITED: im making up enhancments

EDIT AGAIN: P.S i was gonna go dwarven axes and enhancments, also i only unlocked monk yesterday so i have NEVER even played around with building one.

wisdom stacks with dex ac bonus.  You CANNOT wear armor.  Robes and outfits are fine.

If you do not have the gear being a rogue with a 10 int is going to be challenging for you.

If you are going to use dwarven axes every level up better go into str.  Therefore weapon finesse like on a normal exploiter is useless so grab something else.

Also, to find the feat open the character builder, select monk as the class, click on enhancements, then go to the box on the left and scroll down.

Nice one, thanks.

I was gonna go robes, i got a few collected up already so thats kool.

I got some pretty good items left over from my wiz/rogues so i can keep up with the +3,5,7,10 as i level..... im hoping this will be enough. Im not really bothered about being the main rogue for a group, its just to get me by solo really.

Also, i will eat any +2 tomes i need at level 7.

i did have a look for the Ac bonus on the char planner, i even rolled a test char, took it on the vet boat and leveled to 4 looking for it but couldnt find it. Was late though, ill go have another look now.

Infact, i just did on the char planner and i must be a right spud!! I went dorf, monk, enhancments.... there is no AC BONUS that i can see.......  Cry

cheers for the tips though.

EDIT: ahhhh hold up.... is the AC bonus a stance? I was assuming it was something passive.

Fuck the ddo forums.

Here is all you need to know about monk ac.

You must keep your weight at light.. medium and heavy will take away the bonus.
Armor will remove the bonus.

The ac bonus is = to your wisdom modifier.

18 wisdom= 4 wisdom ac.

30 wisdom= 10 wisdom ac.

its just like dex but with a few needy requirements.

Also, no shields.

There is also the centered bonus, that adds another +5 (IIRC) at level 20. It is a granted feat every four levels or so (as fast movement and slow fall).

In case you haven't noticed, most of the users of this site are passive-aggressive and prefer to sit back and watch Rome burn so they can say I told you so.  (Daily WTF)

That's if you're a monk. An exploiter has only one level of monk.
