What weapon?

Trying to figure out the best weapon for my Battle Cleric.  After much tweaking and too many LRs to count, she'll be 12 CLR, 6 FTR, (and either 2 ROG/MNK for evasion or an additional 2 CLR levels...not sure yet)

She uses two handers.

Greataxe, Falchion or Greatsword?  I'm thinking either Greataxe or Falchion for the crits...

Second question- why the fuck do ppl use Greatswords to begin with?  Racial boni?

Seems like the wider crit range on falchion would pull it ahead, now that epic SoS is nerfed hard.

If you are looking to also get wisdom bonus from monk, the you would need to be unarmed or use monk specific weapons.  Rogue would be better to get the evasion.

Ummm, clarify please.  Because if I'm understanding what you wrote, you are incorrect.  Wisdom bonus applies to AC regardless of what weapons you are wielding.  That's the entire reason for 1-monk splash builds like the exploiter or the 13/6/1 rog/rgr/mnk.

(Also, that has been clarified as WAI by devs multiple times).

It was my understanding that if it isn't a monk weapon, they will be uncentered so the bonus won't apply.

If it doesn't matter then I won't have to look for all those kamas for my clonk and can just ues all my normal items.

Monk wis bonus to ac is a class feature and does not require you to be centered, hence all the XXXXX/monk builds

It's like the others are saying for the Wis AC bonus, but if you want to use other monk-shit like the stances (+2 Wis for example) you need to be centered. So only monk weapons then (no shield, no armour).

I don't care about Monk weapons- went that way on my Clonk---

For the sake of this discussion, I'm asking between the available Two-Handers: Falchion, Greatsword, and Greataxe.

Everyone in-game seems to run around with G-Axes, but most people are telling me to use a Greatsword, which I why I'm confused- disparity between what I see in game vs. advice given.

I don't see how Great Sword are better than Great Axes.

Unless of course you bring in the SoS and ESoS arguement.

As far as Greensteel goes, GS and GAxe both look the same in profile - GAxe gets two extra hits worth of damage in 20 rolls from crits and GSword gets two extra hits worth of damage in 20 rolls from crits.

Actually, with a Bloodstone, a Gsword will get an extra 6 damage over the course of 20 swings because you get +6x2x2 instead of the +6x3 that the Greataxe gets.

That +6 damage from a Bloodstone total over the course of 20 swings is pretty miniscule, however.

They would be very similar, within a couple points of damage of each other, except when beating on a held enemy.  In that case, the axe is far superior.
