I was thinking of crafting a longbow with dexterity enhancements and earth grab. However I am open to suggestions. Smiley

I've always heard your first GS bow should be Lightning2.

If you already have a Lit2, ignore this post.

As an aside, why DWS instead of AA for archery PrE?

I'm not sure if this is a troll or a serious post, but I'll answer anyway.

If you want to make a weapon that you're going to use in combat (and not just two weapons for a caster), then why put something other than damage on it.

If you want to do damage, then do damage.

I'm new to D&D so I picked DWS more less random. It's been a fun toon to use with triple shot mowing down mobs from afar. I posted for advice so I don't waste all of the hard work grinding out ingredients and end up with a GS item that you guys would laugh at. (no worries if you do) So would you go lightning on all 3 tiers?

I would go AA, then do Lit 2.

If you are gonna go pew pew pew, you may as well do slight dmg with it.

I just read that the cat followed up by visiting the dog house later that night, dropping some Willie Pete in on the sleeping dog.  #epochsfamiliarFTW

Lightning2 I believe is:

Tier 1: Holy
Tier 2: Shocking Burst
Tier 3: Shocking Blast + Good Blast (Dual Shard)

Correct me if I'm wrong. I haven't reached Shroud level yet.

This is correct, but I should point out that on Tier 3, only one of the shards actually counts for applying a primary effect (Shocking Blast) even though you do need BOTH tier 3 shards to make the secondary effect of Lightning 2 (the gigantic blast of lightning that fries people occasionally).

In this case, the Shocking Blast will "win" vs. the Good Blast.

When you do the last bit of crafting, make sure that you do the most important of the steps for the final altar's crafting.

Step 1) Make a positive/dominion/material supreme shard
step 2) make an air/dominion/material supreme shard
step 3) Combine the PDM supreme shard and the ADM supreme shard in the altar
step 4) combine the double shard with your greensteel weapon.

I know people that skipped step 3.  Most of them were drunk when they crafted, but they're all unhappy about the result.

Add in Arcane Archer and you could be seeing some nice 1200-1300 hits on occasion (or 1800-1900 underwater Cheesy ).
