Ghallanda: ddo korea season II?

i read in another thread that a lot of ddo korea members got banned for plat farming. anyone on ghallanda have a source for this? i could ask kasi, but i wouldnt want to offend, that sounds like a 'you're asian so it must be true' thing if it turns out not to be true.

i personally dont believe it, we did see a decline in ddo korea members during the summer but looks like they're back in action for those of you hanging out in the ~2-6 am bracket.

one theory i heard was electricity is insanely expensive in korea during the summer months, so they don't play as often. sounds like kinda an iffy theory but it coincides with the disappearance during the summer and return during the winter.

just curious as to the source of this info- somehow i dont think this came up in casual conversation with korea's members. i dont think ddo korea are plat farmers. those guys are legit good players, but if they were plat farmers i imagine they'd be running sands 24/7 or shroud. they seem to run raids like any other guild does, was in a ddo korea epic queen a couple weeks ago, nothing at all plat-farmable there o.O

I was quoting something I read on the official forums back in 09-10, it was repeated in game. I ran with a few of them, and they didn't refute it, but o don't know if it was one specific action that they got busted for or if it was a lot of things. I also don't know how many were involved

I really do not understand how can be plat farming a business.
For how much RL money are they selling, lets say, 1 million plat? 1 million plat lets supouse = Supreme tome +2 = 15$?
How long does it take to farm 1 million with a high level character and normal luck?

I can ransack Shroud chests and come out with about 500k.  I do have a haggle bard for selling.

Shroud plat farming with a group of plat farmers, figure about 20 minutes per Shroud 1-4...being on the longer time estimate since these people should have the runs down....3 hours for 500k.  Larges can be sold for a good sum, especially large scales.

I'm sure there are better chests for plat farming.

A while ago, I was curious and had looked at some of those prices on their websites.  I think it was like $50 for enough plat to plat cap a character(can't look at their sites since I'm at work.)  The most expensive amount would take a couple of characters to get all the plat you bought.

I am surprised, Fuck Off. Thanks for the info.
As I have a lot of low level characters, I had no clue.

Hello:

You assume that the plat farms interact with the game the way we do (a UI and a person making decisions-moves-etc.).

I don't know much about programming but from what I have seen with other games I assume that there is a way to interact with the game purely through some farming program which is automated and runs 24-7.

I may be wrong.  Someone with more DDO code knowledge might be able to enlighten me.

ddo korea doesnt recruit robots. they're not a 'plat farming' themed guild. they have people, who interact with other people and stuff. if someone was using a bot-program i assume they'd keep it guildless, or at least not put them in a guild that's as well known as ddo korea.
