The capstone is sexy. All my clickies are cl20. So my haste goggles, dw clickie, gh, jump, etc are all at max caster level.
Monk for evasion and two feats is alright, but I prefer the extra 2 lvl 6 spell slots and the capstone. If you have a decent save, evasion is just nice to have.

Monk PL, if you have the time. The feats from the monk levels are mostly unnecessary.

Also to add, Rune Arm damage scales with Arty level. At 20, my Lucid Dreams does 500+ damage easily.

Per missle or total?
Lvl 18 it is doing over 1000dmg total (assuming no saves for half). I cannot wait to cap and craft Major Kinetic Lore onto it!
820+ crit Blade barriers are awesome so far. Must get an Eardweller for sure.

force is 7/1/1, which is most likely my issue
The rest I have mostly. except it's a Greater Kinetic Lore crafted onto my Lucid.
ETA: Your mom's fat pussy does wonders for lubricant.

So far I've leveled 2 artificers to 20, one is a TR1 and the other was a first lifer.
Currently the first lifer art is a TR1 art with 2 monk. Only at level 15 now, so now is when I pay for not having BB yet. Almost to 16, though, and haven't really missed it.
Since I like to solo/duo a lot of things the evasion has made a HUGE difference in the play experience. Actually surviving some traps in Chain of Flames, for example, rather than dying through them with a hireling to rezz.
The capstone, having hit it twice, isn't terribly impressive. It is nice to have the flesh rendor visor clicky last 20 minutes, but, meh, plenty of other toons get along without that just fine. Tried web wands to see if would even roughly approximate the heightened AM SLA...not even close, most critters completely ignore it. Haven't bothered with PK wands.
With 2 monk you will be missing not only the capstone and the spell slots but also 1 caster level boost on items...so only +4 caster levels. (1 bonus feat does compensate for not taking human...the 2nd feat wound up being lightning reflexes.)
Anyway, that's my experience so far.

For a leveling build that will tr at 20, getting the 2 monk isn't a terrible idea if you don't mind waiting til 17 for blade barrier.
For something that will stay at cap for a bit, I'd go pure. Healing folks for 280+ with a heal scroll is sexy. Healing yourself for over 300 is even sexier.

You can do that with a splash. The scroll bonus tops out at 13 artificer levels. Can max wand and scroll mastery by lvl 11, though stopping at III makes more sense.

The capstone applies to wands too. This lets you replace some buff scrolls with longer lasting versions that weigh 0.1lb instead of a stack weighing 5 each, plus you'll not expend a charge a third of the time. I'd like evasion, but I like the capstone too.

Well I'm not trying to convince you or anyone of a splash advantage, just sharing what my experience and current conclusion is.
How often, though, do you actually *need* a 20 minute buff in lieu of, say, a 7 minute buff?

When I am solo farming xp or epics and don't have the luxury of self casting said buffs. Longer buffs = less shrining.

I like the capstone.
You're giving up an arty feat at 20, the capstone, and additional spells on a splash... and like 80sp every time you hit a RoSS.
If it's Monk you get a net gain 1 feat (Human pure Arty vrs non Human splash it's a wash), evasion, and balance as a class skill.
Rogue gets you evasion, balance as a class skill, and some SA damage.
I think the capstone is worth evasion.
I still don't know what YaBB is

I love evasion but I like the Arty capstone. It isn't just the capstone either, it is an extra 2 lvl6 spell slots (for a WF arty this is must have, BB, Reconstruct, Deadly Weapons, Tactical Det.)
Personal choice of course, but I think only a fleshy Arty could manage that without giving up too much.

Deadly weapons kinda sucks now and I like my reconstruct on scrolls.
WF with 2 monk manages it just fine, you do lose 1 feat for splashing (same total number of feats, but the 2nd bonus monk feat doesn't have much to offer).
Anyway, different builds for different goals. My pure human artificer is great fun, my now 16th level WF 2 monk splash is a lot of fun, too, and has the soloing edge in some quests.
(both will TR again, of course...after another 2 artificer lives my pure will go 18 cleric/2 artificer...that'll be months from now)
