I forsee a lot of wiz/sorc duos.

Honestly, why the fuck cant they just give enemy divines the ability to cast deathward (which can be interupted and dispelled).

Enemy concentration checks would be nice.

But dispelling?  With epic mob caster levels?

Enemy divines can and do cast deathward now. That made sense. What they changed it to makes no sense at all.

I particularly like the assumptions that folks'll be going back to hold-botting now.

Fuck that. Torc+sla+aura+bursts till it's down enough. You pull it off, you kill it. Or your ass buys the pots.

Used to make it a point to set up CC/AOE bunkers and the like at doors too, but hey, they wanna make me use up more bluebar? Blame them.

The problem is, it is being called deathward.  In most cases it more of a deathblock.  Necro dmg still hits it, you just can't instakill it.

That changes things a bit.  Not nearly as bad if your sla's on a pale work to damage the mobs.

Could potentially be a hold or mass hold/ sla/horrid wilting/wail or circle then.

Unless the mobs are back to mult thousand hp juggernaughts.

With enemy caster levels hovering around 9000, it's pretty much impossible to dispell those deathwards, so I'm very happy to see enemy casters cast deathward and to see more of some individual enemy types (constructs, undead) that are immune to stuff.  Hell, let's see golems go back to D&D versions where they're close to immune to casters.

Blanket Immunities for all enemies in quests are just plain stupid, though.

My comment was aimed at the whole "20 minutes thing". Who the fuck do you run with that can't DPS down an epic mob in a decent time span?

taking out a wizard's ability to deal with trash quickly makes it a completely useless class. something needed to be done about OP pale masters being too good at it, but the solution should never be 'blanket immunities that make a class completely not worth playing at all'.

who in their right mind isnt going to tr immediately into a sorc? there's absolutely no reason to run a pale master anymore. unless you're a huge fan of the inspired quarter.

Sad part is, anyone with half a brain will still break the game in half. Just a different icon on the buttons as we blow past trash. (and hey, no scrolls to farm so no real reason to bother killing em).

Oh right, completely forgot about that Cheesy

So now there's pretty much no reason to kill trash anyway (unless they've given them all see invis)

I think I like it - instakills requiring some prepping via dps is an interesting twist on ye ole "fingering the 5% mob" meme.

My rogue does not like it too much, as everyone know that rogues are no dps class. Cheesy

They probably cast nothing BUT deathward due to buggy code, thereby skipping any casts of ALL of their other spells and making the fight "too easy".

I'm staying a wizard.

Web + Firewall +  block-n-Torc on the ones not caught in the web + Wail = Win.

If I have melees in my group mass-hold and kill-steal.

Look, I and by no means a fan of this change but it's not the end of the world if the monkeys at Turbine don't revoke it.

Who knows if scroll farming will even be viable anymore, I'd be shocked it it is.  If the scroll drop-rates are the same on Epic N/H/E it won't matter.

Looks like I'll be heading back to AM:Enchantment

However, it does amuse me that the asshats at Turbine can't figure out how to balance the game.

Epic Ward > No Epic Ward > Epic Ward Only In Challenges > Half Epic Ward on Epic Hard and Elite

No blanket immunities.  Blanket Immunities.  Half Immunities.

There really is no creativity in design.

Played around last night, level 23, capped Draconic ED with some magister abilities twisted in.

Pretty sick damage on sorc, still ends up being caster handling trash. With a completionist wiz bud wed run in couple quick AOE  and then he'd wail with melees usually grabbing archers and such that didn't come to the group of murder.

Not happy about allot of changes but not quite doom either I guess.

I’d rather they do something unique and original like ditch the stratospheric stats and actually have the mobs wear gear and have buffs when we encounter them.  (You know, like players.)  That way we could dispel/disjunct em and then insta-kill them.
