Epic caster feats (Read 3290 times)

	The only four epic[pre][/pre] feats that look at all attractive for a caster are Epic Spell Focus: +1 DC to a school, requires SF and GSF in that school. Epic Spell Penetration: +4 Spell Pen, requires Spell Pen, Greater Spell Pen Epic Toughness: +50 HP, requires Toughness and 21 Con Epic (Wis/Int/Cha): +1 (Wis/Int/Cha) What are you going to take for your offensive caster(s)? Will divine vs. arcane make a difference to you in your Epic feat choices?

After all the Destine bumps the +1 Dc doesn't seem useful. I'll probably take eSpell pen and Greater Spell Pen...those drow on Epic Elite suck.

	Although if it lets you, maybe 2x of the +4 spell pen. EE Drow are fucking brutal. Regretting not banging out the 3 fvs and 1 more wizard i should have

	Probably Epic Spell Pen and Great Intelligence. If GI puts me at an odd score, I can compensate by removing a piece of gear or saving a couple of AP; if it puts me at an even score, I end up with a +1 to all schools, instead of just the +1 to one school from Epic Spell Focus. Plus, the Int boost increases my Reflex save. The only reason to not go with 2x Great Int is that epic elite SR checks can be rather high.

	Had Epic SF:enchantment briefly, but swapped it out for eToughness when I realized how much DC I was getting out of the magister ED. Might take Epic Spell Pen at 24. I'm still not sure what the new target thresholds are. Mid-40's used to be thought to be good, and DC/SP 50 was pretty much something mostly seen on the theoretical-max threads. Think old eSentinels drow had a spell Pen of 45, for instance. 50 now seems pretty achievable with a decent gearset and build, and stretching to a sustainable 54 seems possible but to involve a little more (elf-TR's, etc.). I've mostly been running EH, so I haven't seen much trouble with Spell Pen, maybe I will later in the Demonweb or in EE's.

	Making it weirder for some time now.

	I took epic spell pen and focus on Sixpots.(Single TR, Drow,AM, Lvl 25). With just ship buffs, enchant DC is 51 and spell pen in the mid 40's. Works pretty well in EE...

	Sorry to be tardy to the party, but I havent ventured much into this section of the forums yet. Anyway, i'd second the spell pen + necro focus. 1 past life and full retard magister = 45 spell pen for me and 51 necro dc. No more "blue shields" most places but still plenty of saves. On the pt 2 "house of" quests, I actually dont think I saw one spell pen failure on EE. Bigger frustration has been saves. I considered the INT feat but the reflex saves / buff other schools thought wasn't that important to me. Maybe it should be. Idk.

	I'll be going with epic spell pen and either +1 int (if it makes me even number, or epic spell focus necro if it does not. I'm an elf PM maxed out for dcs and sp btw.
