That shortsword that does only light damage. Does it automatically bypass all DR due to its lack of physical damage?

Keen is fine.

Get Keen on enough good weapons and you can drop Improved Crit. Get Keen on an off-spec weapon and you can make good use of something you normally wouldn't.

Get Keen on enough good slashing weapons, and you can move IC to bludgeoning or piercing to open up your options.

The only time Keen on a weapon is a bad thing is when it replaces something that would have been more relevant. Honestly, I don't think that's the case here...I just think the guys who work on loot are clueless.

Wait, I KNOW they are, because I was shooting messages back and forth with Genasi half a year ago or more explaining to him/her how to calculate weapon DPS, and why the Divine Vengeance is a piece of crap, and what Barrage is and how to use it. From what I could tell, he/she was simply pulling item effects out of a hat (more or less) and slapping them on without really making much effort to weigh one item against another.

I suspect that this is a large part of why we get so much underwhelming shit. The devs simply don't do the 5-10 minutes worth of calculating and comparing for new stuff to see if it's worthwhile, too strong or too weak.

Still nothing definite in that thread, but the Druid Flame Blade ability did get brought up.  It's only typed as Flame, Magic, and the wiki reports that
A) It is affected by weapon DR.
B) This is a bug.

Can anyone confirm the above?  And re: point B, has this been acknowledged as such or is it just someone's interpretation of what they think it ought to be, DDO's combat engine be damned?
