The first two or three times you enter the instance, there is a spider ambush at the first T intersection where a black widow would drop down on you from a grate (later entrances there is also a spider ambush at the same spot but different spiders and no widow). Previously, she was getting stuck up there and all you could do was hope someone had a spell that could hit her. I thought that was the spider they were talking about.
