I was shocked recently by a Turbine GM.

Was running EH Wiz-King and the quest bugged out. It never registered that we put the scorpion crest in the socket to open the doors (necessary for completion) even though we clearly had done so. I put in a ticket while we were running down to get the chests at least. On the way, I went up and clicked a few times on the crest and the quest completed. Yay!

Recalled, and on my way to sell, the GM contacted me. That's a GM response in under 10 minutes! WOW!

And it got better!

I told him what had happened (minus it getting fixed) and that I was out already (and expressed my shock at the rapid response time)...and he kept listening. I asked him what he would have been able to do even if I had stayed in the quest waiting for a GM...

and he said that he would have given us our completion! That's the most useful thing I've heard from a GM since Foundation of Discord was regularly bugging out at the end. And he stayed on the horn for a while longer listening to, and responding to, my bitching about the shitty GM service in general, and my frustration at the fact that I've submitted bug reports for quests bugging out like this for half a year or more and have yet to get a response, see a dev comment, a release note, or see it pop up on the known issues list.

Once instance of one guy isn't a trend, and isn't going to change years of frustration and disappointment with Turbine's in-game "support", but it may have been a heralding of positive things to come. (yeah right)

The DDO forums have had a couple of successful interaction stories as well.  So there's either one helpful/knowledgeable GM there that's getting a lot of the tickets or there's been a change in how the department's being run.

I think the changes you are seeing aren't in response to complaints. It is response to a declining base of users. They could have made these changes 2 years ago, but now they are grasping at straws to save the game.

There have always been a few good GM's and 1 out of 20 times you have a good interaction.  The problem is the majority of GM are clueless and hostile.  Just look at the Caught in the Web debacle, one group the GM completed for them other groups were told to piss up a rope.  A support organization cannot be run that way.   There needs to be consistency.   Customers need to know what GM's are empowered to do.  Turbine has never done this.  You wait forever then get canned text.  Tickets get closed with no contact.  People have been banned for asking to speak with a supervisor. 

And every time someone brings CS up on the forums even if it's within the rules the threads get deleted.  I have over the years posted very rational and withing the guidelines posts about issues with Turbine CS and never seen a single post from Turbine addressing the concerns.

The other major problem that I have with Turbine customer service is that they are not consistent depending upon who you speak to.  Some GM's will spawn the boss, complete the quest, etc., while another GM will say, "I can't do that.  You'll have to start over.  Feel free to enter a bug report!," when entering a ticket for an IDENTICAL issue.

I totally gave up on CS after realizing I couldn't even request GM assistance if I hadn't spent money recently, even if I was premium.  The horror stories on the forums don't help.  I agree with Azog - there is no customer service.
