DDO should definately make the lit especially over the arcade style ones and the console one where you can only choose 3 characters and their stats are set. They werent great games and didnt feel like DnD when you played them. By the simple fact that DDO is the first DnD MMO that has lasted 7 years it should make that list.

Yeah I would be the first to rag on DDO for some serious suck but compared to half the games on that list DDO is made of gold

I disagree J$. Shadows Over Mystara is one they got right. Download the ROM and MAME and give it a try if you haven't already.

Bought Dragonshard, could never get it to run. Probably have the CD around here somewhere still.

The rest of them are all solid choices, though some didn't hold up so well to the test of time.

or you can just watch shadows on youtube. it's short. and it has displacer beasts, which I don't remember in any of the other games

unlimited adventures, the 'make your old goldbox game' would be the top of my list. so many great modules in that... easily got months of playtime from me

Hmmm... I donīt know... I fell a bit snob-ism in the list "what is new is bad".
Sorry:

Eye of the Beholder II was better than Eye of the Beholder I.
NWN II was, IMHO, better than NWN.
Temple of Elemental Evil... well... I think at least should be worth rank 9 or 10.

BG: Dark Alliance - just ... no.  It and Dungeon Hack should prolly just go away.

I liked NWN, but the storyline was just uninspiring.  NWN2 had a more interesting setting.

PS:Torment needs a remake with modern technology-Fantastic game with one of the most unique mechanics for advancing the storyline ever... where else do you have to die to advance?

And who didn't see BGII:SoA coming?

%&#*&$ water levels.

That game got nasty at the higher levels!

In a good way... but so frustrating & challenging too, sometimes without even being given the stuff for a chance to survive.

Bullshit list.

Any of the SSI gold box games are better than any of the console shit they have on there, any day of the week.

Also EOB 2 was the shit - still dust it off from time to time

I believe NWN1 was better than NWN2. Back when it came out it took a pretty nice computer to run it free of lag, especially on those beautiful PW's people made. Both of the games were great though, played through all campaigns and on a variety of different online worlds. Fun times.

I read a while back that they were working on a sequel.  And I mean for real, not just theorizing.  If I remember correctly they were going to separate themselves from the franchise, dropping the "Planescape" to just Torment 2, or something like that.
Let me see if I can find a link.

edit: here's one

Oh crap, that's recent!  Nice, thanks.

Someone posted a link to an overlay (like TuTu) for Torment - I'll play with it some this weekend to see if I have the patience.  If it's anything like TuTu was to put BG into BG2's engine, I am gonna pass - too old for that much bullshit now.
