I've never understood the derping, but haven't really ever been involved with the specifics so I haven't paid much attention. If derping is just a way of strake telling someone who's boss, than I think it's a bitch move. I absolutely approve of the ban hammer because the drunken rev jim can be a hindrance.

Using an administrative upper hand and threatening to escalate to PHASE II because you can't debate using grown-up words is also a bitch move. Advanced trolls definitely don't need that advantage. Herpaderping is a way of calling someone out for their own stupidity.  It's not moderating.  It's usually used when someone makes a complete ass of themselves.  In fact, most of the "moderated" people on this board were never herpaderped.  Astra, Aten, the "eye" guy that got into it with Stainer alot (can't recall his name).  It's just a way of giving someone shit for their mistakes and keeping them humble.  Like friends are supposed to do. 

Likewise, Strakeln bestows custom titles to people at a whim, based on what he thinks is fun.  He changes them at a whim.  It's not really moderation.  It's mostly inside jokes.  It's part of the scenery and personality of the board.  To my knowledge, most people have not "requested" their custom title, it's done arbitrarily by Strakeln. 

I don't see the change in Gunga's title as moderation or trolling.  I also don't see that it really bothers Gunga all that much.  In fact, it gives him something to troll Strakeln over. 

Honestly, I got no issue with Gunga, and I ran with him plenty in his more recent stint on Khyber.  I think once he proxy rolled on a Shard of Power in a Shroud for Cloey.  Which I think is lame, but pretty much Meh on the drama scale.  It's Shroud in 2012 or 2013.  Who gives a fuck?  He was was always fun to run with.  Even when I fucked up and died embarrassingly on my Wiz during TR runs in Maraud the Mines. 

I ran with Strakeln years and years ago and always had fun. 

I also got no issue with them trading barbs and jabs.  It's all good fun. 

I think reporting people in game if they really aren't being disruptive or offensive (doing it just for shits and grins) is lame, but if someone is dumb enough to drop some f-bombs in party or channel chat, they deserve what they get.  Every game has a squelch option for a reason.  Take the fucking high road, dumbass, and you won't have anything to worry about.
