Ridiculous.  Is there going to be an in game memorial for every event now?

I think it is fine since Turbine is located in the Boston area. I would expect they might be feeling this more than the rest of us. It does set up lesliewestguitarchucker to spooge all over himself in excitement.

Turbine is a Boston company. Cut them some slack. It will probably go away in a while.

Is that really what it's there for?

Probably is something as lame as a bombing memorial/event, yeah.

I agree with it being OK, given the physical location of Turbine and the fact that a better percentage of their employees might have been impacted than in other areas of the U.S.

Honestly, it's been 2 weeks.  I'm from the area.  Unless you were directly impacted most people have moved on to the put it in the past/support local businesses mode.   It's no longer even a talk radio topic.

Traps there were some development hours down the toilet.

Yeah exactly. I play ddo to escape reality in my own way, not have it brought back up ingame.

What's next a catholic church because multiple dev's at turbine are catholic? Or maybe finally will get that walmart ingame because loves shopping there and he wanted to honor it to.

A group of 40-50 monks running by the memorial would cause much butt hurt.

What if you could only place them in the Korthos public area?

You would think someone at Turbine would realize that they put the ribbon next to the in-game retail area that they blew up a few updates past.  Just how long do you think it will be before someone posts a tasteful chronoscope LFG to pay tribute to all the victims of this very unfortunate event....

I think it'd be ok if the intent is truly a memorial.  I suspect, though, it is PRECISELY the same as LeslieWest - an attempt to use the event to curry favor.

Which means I like it even less than I do him.

I agree with the escapism comment above, as well; but that's less of a concern to me than the marketing thing.
