My New Favorite Quest - The Unquiet Graves

This is my first time actually leveling through a life as an AA so this is probably old news to people that have played archers for several years but I'm enjoying it...

The Unquiet Graves (especially on EN) can be completed by firing 4 arrows - one through the head of each of the guys you're required to kill. Really fun popping Adrenaline Overload + Arrow of Slaying, dropping a guy, pop invis and run to the next, rinse, repeat. The quest is insanely quick with that strategy (even moreso than normal). Nice one to pop in for 2-3 runs per day (especially if you use an alt account to allow window-farming).

How many xp you exactly get after -80% ransack? this might indeed get the next impossible demands.

...

Well, impossible demands probably gives you the same amount of xp, PLUS it's even faster to complete, PLUS it's faster to reach, so...

Put the crackpipe down.  There's no new Impossible Demands.  Pre-U19 ED XP farming is dead.

I plan on hitting both of them 1-2 times a day as I level. It's a long run out to unquiet graves but I can multi-box an acct to save me the run more than once a day so it'll be worth it. Let me log about 100k a day in a few minutes on days I don't have much time to play.

-80% probably would just sneak in at about 1k xp/min given the time it takes to run this. I was just getting in to sniping position by the time the cooldown for arrow of slaying hit each time so that's about 10 seconds to buff while running to the first guy to talk (and then kill him), 20 seconds for the next guy, 20 seconds for the next after that, and 20 seconds for the final kill. If you loot tack on another 30 or so to run up, loot, and recall...if not you could be out in a few seconds. Maybe 1:20-1:30 a run and I'm guessing 80% ransack would be about 3600xp so maybe even a bit better than 1kxp / minute. I'd much rather run other quests though as even at 2-2.5k xp / minute you could get about that and better loot to boot from other quests.

EDIT: Still fun to actually play a toon like a sniper though. Smiley

I've done my share of daily bottom feeding while waiting for friends to login:

ID x4
Unquiet Graves x4
Rusted Blades x4
Deal and the Demon x4

Usually do VON3 x2 and then enough people are on to do EE Shadowfell.  It's not the most efficient off destiny farming, but it's a hell of alot faster than the new content.

Ok, just curious so to answer the question from earlier, it's just over 7kxp with no pots/bonuses/etc at 80% ransack. I *can* run it in 1:20 like I mentioned but a safe bet for average on quest time would be an even 2 minutes. When you're relying on a one-shot kill for speed and you roll low enough to get a grazing blow that screws up your 1:20 pace. So a safe bet on farming this would be 7kxp (pre-bonuses) / 2 minutes or about 3.5kxp / minute. That's assuming of course that you're sniping the boss from range and staying out of fights with all the other trash. Positioning is very important for that as you have to shoot the incanter's from out of the line of sight of everything else. The incanter off to the right of the entrance will usually have you pull 1 drow warrior even if you do it right but I've been saving Manyshot for that one since he has some massive DR as well and a 1-shot didn't always drop him.

ID is still 7kish even at -80%.

It's not the 20+k it used to be, but it's still like 3.5k a min or better.

But I can only take like 5 runs of it now before I want to eat my own eyes with a fork.

3 would actually be ideal if you wanted the same xp every day. 4 is good if you don't expect to stay in the level range very long.

Three runs / day:
Run 1: 0% penalty
Run 2: 20% penalty (assuming no first-time bonuses involved)
Run 3: 40% penalty
Wait 18 hours (50% of penalty erased)
Next day repeat at no starting penalty

Four runs / day:
Run 1: 0% penalty
Run 2: 20% penalty
Run 3: 40% penalty
Run 4: 60% penalty
Wait 18 hours
Run 1: 10% penalty
Run 2: 30% penalty
Run 3: 50% penalty
Run 4: 70% penalty
etc.

The complete ideal for a quest that you want to farm every day at maximum xp possible for each run would be 4 one day, 3 the next, alternating. You'd erase the full 50% each day, only starting with a 10% penalty every other day.

Sounds like ID could work about the same as Unquiet Graves. I just never liked running that one as the priestess is unpredictable in what she's going to do...sometimes she's not as compliant about a quick kill as others and it pushes the times up a bit. That's a great list Carpone posted in any case...all 4 of those quests are outstanding for farming and definitely faster than a lot of the new content.

If you wouldn't wait, the fourth run would be 60% penalty, right? Subtracting 50% from that, that'd put the first run of the next day at 10%, shouldn't it?

FTFY. First Run of the Day bonus still applies even with a ransack penalty.

Yes.  If it's your first time ever completing a quest on a specific difficulty, then it's not subject to ransack penalties.

In other words you can run

Elite streak + first time +20
Hard  first time
Normal first time
Hard  100% xp
Hard 80% xp
Hard 60% xp
Hard 40% xp

and 18 hours later if you wanted run
Hard 110% xp
Hard 70%
Hard 50%

For the most part you can still farm the good quests you just split half one day.  Half of another quest that same day.  Then go back and finish it up tomorrow...which from 17 to cap just means building a decently quick rotation of good xp quests that you run x3 daily

I don't think that's right, but I'm not positive.

I think it's:

Elite: 120%
Hard First Time: 100%
Normal First Time: 100%
Next Run: -60%
Next Run: -80%
All Next Runs: -80%

Not sure that this is working.  I could swear that I did 1 Normal and 3 casual runs during the Arena bonanza and then did a Hard for some XP and it had the same penalty.

Could be that I ran it on Hard before but I am positive the only difficulty I had run before on that toon was a single Elite run.

I'll have to do more work to check for errors.  I can confirm that on a test run, running Elite, then Hard, then Normal and then Hard again didn't net any penalties.  This is in line with the above comments by Carpone and Shadehater.  But I too think I have also seen some exceptions.

Of course, I could be wrong, and I don't really give a shit either way.  But I'm inclined to suspect some kind of bugged mess.

A bit of a necro here, but I just wanted to say thanks for the list and give some details on how I've been using it.  I'm not sure I would have thought of running Deal and the Demon, and running that lead me to also add Trial by Fury to my list.

Basically in-order, all on EN, solo so only once each:
1) Muster to ES
2) *Impossible Demands*
3) Run to Unquiet Graves (ugh - 3 or 4 minutes maybe?)
4) *Unquiet Graves*
5) Recall to ES
6) Run to ES Cavern
7) Portal to Schin
8) *Rusted Blades*
9) Schin portal to Demonweb
10) Jump off 2-3 times until close to either TBF or DatD
11) *Trial by Fury* (or DatD)
12) Run to second Demonweb quest (these two quests are always "connected" by a direct route)
13) *Deal and the Demon* (or TBF)
14) Recall to ES Cavern (alternately muster to ES)
15) Collect loot and reset quests
16) Profit

This nets ~122K in 35-40 minutes with 20% tome, 5% ship, and 5% voice (no pots, no bonus weekend).  Standard zerging techniques:

1) Liberal use of invis
2) Bypass all mobs and obstacles (doors, gates, etc.) possible
3) Insta-kill all mobs possible that can't be bypassed

I use only one d-door (in HoRB) and loot everything along the direct route, including the main chest in HoRB (but not Matron's).

I'm thinking of adding House of Death Undone to the rotation, since I should still be able to fit it into my self-imposed "One Ship Buff" time limit.  I'll have to see if my Open Lock or Knock is up to the task of the shortcut door, otherwise I might have to take a rogue hire along.

Also thinking of dropping Unquiet Graves which, because of the run out to it, makes more sense if you can window it with a partner.  Overall XP would go down, but I'm pretty sure the XP/min ratio would go up quit a bit, at least as a solo.

Anyone have any other ideas for good XP/min epics?
