Another TWF thread - help needed

Hi,

I would rly beg for help with my twf character. I found out I am not able to build a good twf char. Atm i am sitting at lvl 20 (human) with 12 fighter/ 6 ranger / 2 rogue classes, 36 pt build (actually only useful pl is fighter). I have many many equipment on this char, allways used kopeshes, after citw i was running with 2x nightmares.

I would rly appreciate if someone post here how to change this build to be good after U19. Stiľl have 20 lr heart. But i am rly a noob with builds, so I would need complete advice , like which feats, their order, which classes with order and enhancements too.

I am chaotic and i have on this char red and upgraded black leather armor, so i dont want to run with monk split (i got the message its the best option atm, but dont want to trund things again).

Thx a lot for help.

Carpone's TWF Rick Flare build will be available soon, unfortunately I believe he's taking monk levels though...

You should blame your parents.

I blame them and I read that thread. But as everyone suggested there, monk is a must. So I am wondering if its possible to build twf char without monk lvls. And without detail information, I am not able to build a char. Yes I am the builder noob Smiley

He clearly said he doesn't want monk levels (which is unfortunate)

As for monkless build:
A simple and easy to pull one, would be 12 rgr/8 ftr. Not the best dps out there, but still 100% off hand, some (limited) self healing, some nice attacks form ranger, all feats for bow and twf without needing high dex, +1 crit range and multiplier from kensei, +8 dmg from kensei and tempest enhancements.
You can probably milk more dps from smth like 12 rgr/6 barb/2 cleric (fvs), that, if you could live with rage and it's implications.

/2 monk in leather armor = 2 feats, evasion, access to some nice monk enchancements.
Only thing you won't be is centered witch doesn't really matter.

Hmm I thought that beeing centered is the point to get monk lvlvs... running in mountain stance etc.

But rly, to have monk lvls, I would need first to change my aligment and dont want to waste TP for such crap. And I am rly not sure if running not centered is worth changing to monk from rogue.

Will consider limpgimps idea 12 ranger/ 6 fighter and see what I can make of it.

For monkless go at least 12 ranger, you'll still get 100% off-hand.

But do not underestimate the insane over-poweredness of Earth-stance and centered-kensais.

8 fighter, because you need 8 levels to acces t5 (crit range and multiplier increase) on kensei (unlike any other PRE afaik).
If you are not planning using it, you might as well go 14 rgr (fom and CSW) and rest artie (+dmg to bastard swords, UMD, trap skills, elemental weapons, CSW infusion etc).
I made a basic build of 12/8 for myself, to use for purple dragon knight, if you need the feat breakdown etc i can post it, although it's pretty simple to figure.

Indeed.

OP, because you are Chaotic now doesn't mean you can't get Monk levels. It is possible to get an Alignment Change thingy from the DDO Store and change to something Lawful and then LR. The Alignment change tokens do not work on the reincarnation ship so you have to do it BEFORE you LR.

I think even just 6 levels of ranger and all the twf feats coupled with tempest stuff nets you 90% offhand. I know that I have a (currently) 10 rogue/6 ranger/1 monk  and when I get 1 more AP, I'll have 100% offhand from the tempest stuff (10%)+ shintao (10%) + twf feats (80%).

Even running as uncentered with monk levels, you still get the feats and evasion like you would from a rogue splash. You'd be giving up trap skills, a little SA damage and UMD though. It's a tough choice. And because centered in earth stance is so awesome, it's hard not to justify the monk splash and stick centered.

I'd switch to :
rounded : 8figher, 6ranger, 6rogue. (If you like playing like a fighter this would be my recommendation)
DPS  20rogue
11 rogue, 8ranger, 1fighter (emp. heal, choose between improved evasion & opportunist)
13rogue, 6ranger, 1fighter (no emp. heal, get improved evasion, opportunist, and qualify for epic sneak attack)
healing : 14ranger, 5rogue, 1fighter.

You're already behind raw crit power vs any earth stance fighter, and less likely to have aggro.  In your shoes I'd just up your sneak attack damage.

Personally I like the 13rogue, 6ranger, 1fighter split for no monk levels.

It's possible either 10/6/4 or 13/6/1 Rogue/Ranger/Fighter could be viable, especially if you're wanting to hold onto the black armor. 10 rogue gets you to improved evasion, 13 gives you that and opportunist, which with Grim Precision hits at least 40% fortification bypass. You'd only be at 90% offhand with buying Greater TWF, which is probably made up for with sneak dice.

Probably get shredded quickly if you don't manage aggro.

Edited:
Goddamit, ninjaed! I do like the 13/6/1 the more I think about it and might move my alt rogue to that.

I'd go that route if he's able to drop the fighter level at 20.  No idea what his old leveling order was though.

These earth stance khop fighters are what 12(m)/8? haven't heard of them before. Granted I'm not very hip on the builds.

I've got a WF Ftr8/Rgr6/Mnk6 with dual Drow Khopeshes for stunning. He's centered and he's a beast.

You have a feat list? I rolled one up in a character planner and I'm pretty sure taking 5 toughnesses is just wrong.

Yeah, I don't think I took ANY toughness feats. When I have access to my actual PC, I'll post the list of feats you asked for. Should be in a couple hours or so.
