Glin: give up.  Games are not for you.  Matter of fact, you should work at a sewage treatment plant so we can be certain you dont contaminate the gene pool.

Wastewater treatment is serious business. Operators need certification, and advanced wastewater treatment plants can be quite complex, especially those with biological nutrient removal. If you screw up, or fail to adapt properly to changing conditions, your effluent won't meet standards. That ruins everyone's day - especially those downstream of you.

Wastewater plant operators need to understand how multiple systems interact with each other. Understanding how systems interact and reacting quickly to problems are things that are far beyond the ability of any Turbine employee.

Note to any Turbine staffers reading this, and one I genuinely hope you share around the office: DDO has become a shit game because y'all have made it a shit game. Once it was great. Now, it's a festering puddle of monkey diarrhea. No matter how you try to justify it, or pat yourselves on the back for doing great jobs... it's a shit game now because of you. Y'all keep on giving the players the middle finger, and you keep expecting us to reward you for the abuse. I've had it with you narcissistic fuckwads and your myopic policies of ineptitude.

dear majmal how is this assclown better than the last assclown again? forgive me as a player the game just keeps getting shittier under his watch, just like the last guy, so please remind me why he is a breath of fresh air again. thanks.

I'd much rather hear, "Fuck you, we're doing this," than hearing blathering nonsense.  "Fuck you, we're doing this," still isn't something that I like, but I really despised Fernando's traditional method of just pretending that his customers don't exist and then pretending that what they're releasing is what everyone wanted all along.

Blah-blah-blah, your opinion doesn't matter, we are still going with the change, BUT LATER.
So, instead of getting assraped now, you still have time!
Get your ball gags, dildos and Vaseline!
Prepare yourselves now, then the assraping is not as painful or even may be enjoyable!!
We promise to ease our way in, so at some point you WILL find it pleasant!!

If you're goal is to Get triple completionist with all classes, iconics and epic past lives, then yes.  The difference is that you can do okay and just have fun without all of that.

While they are indeed assclowns, I do wonder why any of you think they can really do any different?

These assclowns either do what WB tells them to do or they will be assclown looking for a new job.

They will not apologize or in any way admit to some kind of fault as that would be admitting they are wrong somehow, expecting them too is well..lol...

While I haven't played a korean mmo recently  the grind is no where near korean standards. You want to see a shitty cash grab company I suggest you go look at http://www.aeriagames.com/.

Shit is going to get much worse before this ship sinks.

Hahaha, Aeria. I know I've ranted about them before, but man they are the real Zynga of MMOs. Except they don't even make their own shitty games, they license shitty korean/japanese games and do the minimum to make them playable in English.

I'm too depressed to dredge through the wiki and figure it out - are any of the sagas completeable by F2P solo? Or are they telling that demographic to pay or go pound salt?

ffs, putting "saga" "ddowiki" gets you a wiki page with nice tables: http://ddowiki.com/page/Saga#Sagas_by_Quest_Name

To make it short: GH are two sagas (heroic, elite).

Just with MotU, you can run another two (called MotU and The ENd of Ebberon).

For the other ones, you additionally need High Road of Shadows and Wheloon (Chosen of Mystra) and in addition to that, even druid's deep (Huntsliver, Perils)

That's not opinion, that's science. And science is one cold hearted bitch with a 14 inch strap on.

In the end, all he did was cave on the easiest demand to meet (leave it alone) and in the most backhanded way (we're still changing it down the line, fuck you.)

I don't think so, and neither do quite a few of the bridge protesters. We want everything addressed and for Turbine to put all their cards on the table when it comes to their plans with these new comms.

We also want BtA on them if they are insistent on going down that road. That's non-negotiable. If Turbine is still insisting on BtC, we're not taking that for an answer here.

They've also said they have plans for obtaining them besides running Sagas. Great. What are those plans exactly? Because we're not going to settle for anything less than the same ease in which we can get tokens right now.

This was nothing but an attempt at distraction. We are not impressed.

Back to the bridge.

Are we there yet?

no. ddo is nothing like even close to a korean (grinding) mmo. for me, ddo is heaven (altho i hate tr'ing, dun ask me why).
to give u an example:
I've played Kal Online, a somewhat small korean rather pvp mmo with a really horrible GM support who will just fuck up pvp system when they want it and u have no real forum to complain about it Wink u can send a ticket every 24h which is answered within 48h with 80% auto reply. Max level is currently 100.

I've reached almost 86, my friend was level 91, close to 92.

this means that ive done:
level 85 to 86:      38,172,360,013 EXP
level 1 to 86 is a total of 162,952,251,871 EXP

my friend was at level 91,8
91->92: 136,782,053,544 EXP
level 1 to 92: 675,444,824,767 EXP

see the exp curve massively increased.

to give u an exp relation:
a mob gives ~ 35k (exp farm spot with permanently respawning mobs, u need at least 1 or 2 lurers, healer, depending on ur gear) to 400k exp (solo leveling spot, u have to lure the mobs which respawn after 10sec if you dont dmg them)

apart from this, u have almost no drops to finance ur exp pots cuz of a horrible drop rate. buying rebirth scrolls when you die costs 5 scrolls for ~ 7euro or buying them ingame from shops for 1,75 mill per scroll. You need those because u lose 10 (1st death in the level) - 60% (highest % possible to lose) of your exp if you die. Especially on high levels u cant play without these scrolls. Mobs hit up to 1,5-2,5k dmg compared to ur hp which is 12-20k hp.  if u lure 20-40 mobs and dont have enough evasion, ur very much dead so you need best gear to level :p I know people that spent 4000 (!!!) euro for a set of gear + weapon. Apart from that, the currency is very valuable.. Ive sold 1,8 billion coins for ~800eur^^ 1,4 billion were bought by 1 single guy to gear out his just bought level 89 Archer (for a not named amount of euro. he said it was expensive so i believe it was above 700eur for a clean char).

I like some content and I play content I like because it's fun for me. And now you want me to play the stinky shit new content I don't like to be able to play the old content I like? FUCK NO. And fuck you.

"Freeloaders" saved DDO, and if Turbine drives them away, they'll sink it.

"Freeloaders" fill and lead PUGs, add volume to the economy in the AH, advertise the game, and they are an audience to admire your epeen (because nobody with ESOS cares that you have ESOS, but it impresses the Marketplace Masses).

They are also a very receptive "advertising" audience, that is, it's much much easier to convert a "freeloader" to a paying customer than it is to convert a non-player to a paying customer.

I spent my first 6 months F2P, and now have spent over $400. Every single one of my guild members started F2P and every single one has bought account upgrades and at least a few adventure packs with real world dollars. Some of them have also spent hundreds of dollars.

The problem is, the packs they bought are not necessarily the packs Sagas are in. Tokens could come from Red Fens, or Chronoscope. Sagas can't. I've got a True Heart and am waiting to try my first TR until a guild mate or two is 20 and ready to TR, and I won't bother TRing until that happens.

If Turdbine makes it so they can't get hearts, there isn't much incentive for me to TR, and without an enjoyable endgame, not much incentive to play at all. I could level some of my lowby alts, I guess.

When you can see the horizon is a dead end, why work to get there?

You think the servers are empty now? Tell F2P there is no path to TR and watch what happens. I'm pretty sure lag won't be an issue for long Roll Eyes

Turdbin, keep changing the DDO rules, because McDonalds sold over 200 billion hamburgers by changing the recipe for their Special Sauce every couple of months to keep interest up.

Turbine psychology:

1 - Implement an absurd idea on Lamaland
2 - Get all players to rage
3 - Keep the above idea, but make it less absurd
4 - Players rejoice
5 - If no rejoice, still do what you want, in a different way

You guys remember the wail drama. They wanted to implement the "hard to kill" stuff, which was insane, then DC casters got super angry, they implemented something less dramatic (limit wail to 6 kills), but what they didn't tell you was the new buffs to mobs DCs, requiring tons of past lives if you wanted to be a viable DC caster in EE.

So in the end they still fucked DC casters...

I hear with the new enhancements they might be viable again... power creep ftw Smiley
