Rolled up a WIS based monk last night. Stats are  6/18/12/10/18/8.

At what level(feat/enhancement) do I get DEX to damage? I hate this thing so far.

there have been a few Monk based topics in the last days/weeks in here I would suggest reading those and for a first lifer chose a race which grants you access to tactic boni which basicly means Dwarf or Warforged

2 level Fighter splash for more tactical boni
and DON't go dex-> dmg yes it's ok for leveling but not for endgame

If you want a tactics monk, I'd go dwarf for the DC bonus - especially first life.

Keep in mind that the DPS of a tactics monk is poo, but you make up for it in just outright killing stuff with QP/EIN, CCing with the other tactics, etc. May not be fun to level one, dunno, but they're great in EE groups.

This is kind of the same thing as an int-based assassin with the added bonus on missing out on about 100 sneak attack damage a hit. My son's always making fun of my int-based assassin's first damage number because his staff str-based rogue does way more damage on those first numbers. A monk faces the same problem only worse because of the smaller sneak attack numbers. But you definitely make up for it w/ all of the wonderful instakills and cc options.

hey my Monk had dex to dmg in his first life, ok I took weapon finesse and it was 2 1/2 years ago and it did about 1/2 wet paper towels for dmg

the 2nd life build I did on that Toon had the same base dmg as the 1st lifer had on crits...
